With just hours left before it was set to expire, President Donald Trump announced he was extending the ceasefire with Iran. This time, there wasn’t a specific deadline, but said the pause in fighting would be in effect until Iran’s government submits a proposal and talks wrap up “one way or the other.” Trump said the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports is still imposed, which an Iranian spokesperson earlier this week called a war crime. Less than 24 hours after Trump’s announcement, Iran attacked three tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and seized two, according to the country’s state-affiliated media.
