There has only been one No. 1 hit on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart throughout the entirety of 2026. Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” began its run at the summit in December 2025, and in the months since it first conquered the ranking of the most popular country cuts in the nation, the career-changing smash has yet to falter. Lately, every time “Choosin’ Texas” holds at No. 1, Langley seems to make history, and she does so again on the latest version of the Hot Country Songs rundown.
Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” Hits 27 Weeks at No. 1
“Choosin’ Texas” scores its twenty-seventh consecutive week at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart. As it reaches that impressive figure, it becomes one of only five tunes to do so. “Choosin’ Texas” is now tied with Gabby Barrett’s “I Hope” as the fourth-longest-ruling smash in the decades-long history of the tally. “I Hope” reached the summit in 2020 and ended its streak the following year.
“Choosin’ Texas” Recently Passed Several Country Hits
Just two weeks ago, “Choosin’ Texas” was on the same level as Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” when it reached a landmark 25 stints in first place. The week prior, “Choosin’ Texas” was matched with both “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line and “Fancy Like” from singer-songwriter Walker Hayes.
It will be more than a month before “Choosin’ Texas” advances again on this all-time list…if that is to happen. Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” holds as the third-longest-running No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, with 34 weeks at the summit to its name. Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” remains at No. 2 with 45 moments in the spotlight.
Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line have held this bit of history for nearly a decade, and may continue to lay claim to the sturdiest No. 1 in the history of the Hot Country Songs chart for years to come. Their cross-genre collaboration “Meant to Be” missed out on becoming the only one-year champion by just two frames.
“Choosin’ Texas” Rules Four Billboard Rankings
“Choosin’ Texas” sits at No. 1 on four of the lucky 13 Billboard charts on which it appears. In addition to the Hot Country Songs ranking, the single also commands the Digital Song Sales, Country Streaming Songs and Country Digital Song Sales lists. Drake’s “Janice STFU,” which launched at No. 1 last week, holds atop the Billboard Hot 100 and Streaming Songs chart, blocking “Choosin’ Texas” from returning to the peak, though that may change in a few days.
Ella Langley Blocks Herself From No. 1 – Again
As has been the case for several weeks now, “Choosin’ Texas” continues to block several other hugely popular tracks by Langley from adding to her list of No. 1s on the Hot Country Songs chart. “Be Her” and “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” a collaboration with Wallen, hold at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, their all-time highs. She scores four top 10s at the moment, as “Loving Life Again” is comfortable at No. 8 this week.
Langley occupies nearly 20% of the entire Hot Country Songs chart at the moment. That’s an impressive showing, but one that she surpassed when her album Dandelion debuted. Nearly two months after that set reached various Billboard rankings, it continues to perform well, and she scores nine Hot Country Songs wins.
Here is a look at where all of Ella Langley’s tracks appear on this week’s Hot Country Songs tally.
