Months after his jukebox biopic, Michael, became the No. 1 movie in America and has since gone on to earn nearly a billion dollars globally, Michael Jackson’s music has remained immensely popular in the United States. He is one of a number of legacy acts that never fully disappear from the Billboard charts, but spring 2026 has been the most exciting period for the late superstar’s discography, perhaps since his passing back in 2009.

Jackson has posthumously risen to never-before-seen highs on several rankings and seen both albums and songs debut on tallies, some of which didn’t exist during his lifetime. Many of the King of Pop’s most popular compositions have started to fall weeks after they soared up various charts, but he still manages to fill multiple spaces on rankings that focus entirely on full-lengths and individual tunes.

One of Jackson’s most popular albums reaches a longevity milestone this time around as Americans continue to consume it in larger numbers than they have in quite some time – and the singer reaches a special landmark number that he hasn’t seen in quite some time.

Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall Reaches 200 Weeks

Jackson fills multiple spaces on this week’s Billboard 200, which details the most-consumed albums in America. His lowest-peaking title this time around is Off the Wall, which slips to No. 178 as it holds on and finds space on the 200-slot rundown one more time. Off the Wall reaches 200 weeks as one of the 200 most popular albums in the nation this period.

Michael Jackson Has Reached This Albums Chart Milestone

Jackson has now seen four albums make it to 200 weeks on the Billboard 200, and several have at least doubled that figure, if not tripled it. Unsurprisingly, Jackson’s longest-charting success on the Billboard 200 remains Thriller. That full-length is not just Jackson’s most successful, but one of the longest-charting albums of all time. As of this frame, Thriller has racked up 723 stays on the competitive tally.

Next up comes The Essential Michael Jackson with 547 weeks on the Billboard 200 to its credit. Number Ones, another greatest hits compilation, has carved out space on the register 242 times.

Off the Wall Returns to the Top 10

Off the Wall appears on a trio of Billboard rankings at the moment, and while it dips from No. 149 to No. 178 on the Billboard 200, the hits-packed LP is on the rise on the other two rundowns. Off the Wall returns to the highest tier on the Vinyl Albums chart, pushing from No. 12 to No. 10. Over on the Top Album Sales list, which focuses on purchases via all physical formats and digital downloads, Off the Wall improves from No. 20 to No. 15.

Michael Jackson Charts Six Albums on the Billboard 200

Jackson fills half a dozen slots on the Billboard 200 this week, with Off the Wall being his worst performer this time around. Thriller and Number Ones sit side-by-side inside the top 10, landing at Nos. 6 and 7, respectively. Notably, of the six collections by Jackson that can be found on the Billboard 200, Thriller and Number Ones are the only ones that appear not just within the top 10, but inside the upper half of the rundown.

Xscape, a posthumously released compilation, sits at No. 129. The Essential Michael Jackson and Bad aren’t far behind, and they come in at Nos. 134 and 148, respectively.

Michael Jackson Charts 16 Songs in America

Six albums by Jackson live on the Billboard charts, and nearly three times as many songs from the superstar can be located on at least one ranking. That roundup includes the first two singles from Off the Wall, “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” and “Rock With You.” The bigger of those two, “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough,” hits 11 rosters, while “Rock With You” can be found on the Billboard Global 200, as well as three rankings built entirely around consumption of R&B music.
