Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour was shorter than most treks that pop stars put together these days. The adventure included only 41 dates and saw the Grammy winner and Oscar-nominated actress visiting just a handful of cities.
Grande recently concluded the trek – which promoted her album Eternal Sunshine as well as her latest full-length, Petal, which dropped during the tour – in London in very early September. British fans are showing their love to the superstar by purchasing several of her biggest hits and turning them into bestsellers again, with multiple tracks by the pop icon reappearing on one list together.
Five Ariana Grande Hits Return to the Same Chart
Grande scores five simultaneous comebacks on the Official Physical Singles chart in the U.K. this week. “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” “The Girl in the Bubble,” “Twilight Zone,” “Defying Gravity” with Cynthia Erivo and “Yes, And?” reenter at Nos. 13, 39, 56, 59 and 87, respectively.
All five have performed much better on the physical-only ranking – which measures purchases of tunes on CD, cassette and vinyl – in the past. “Hate That I Made You Love Me” and “Yes, And?” both reached No. 1, while “Twilight Zone” missed the summit by one space. “The Girl in the Bubble” and “Defying Gravity” both climbed as high as No. 3.
Two of Grande’s five No. 1s on the Official Physical Singles chart return at the same time, and every one of her current hits has spent time inside the top 10. That is not entirely shocking, considering that all 20 tunes Grande has placed on the tally since first appearing in July 2014 have managed at least a single turn between Nos. 1 and 10.
Ariana Grande Doubles Up on the Official Vinyl Singles Chart
Two of Grande’s returning hits also reappear on the Official Vinyl Singles chart. “Hate That I Made You Love Me” comes back at No. 14, while “The Girl in the Bubble” reenters at No. 28.
Between the two, “Hate That I Made You Love Me” has enjoyed the more impressive run. The track has already spent one frame at No. 1, while “The Girl in the Bubble” missed out on dominating by a single rung when it peaked at No. 2.
“Yes, And?” Is Ariana Grande’s Longest-Charting Comeback
“Yes, And?” is easily the longest-running of Grande’s returning hits, with 63 weeks on the Official Physical Singles chart. “Defying Gravity” and “Twilight Zone” have also held on for more than half a year, with 27 and 41 weeks, respectively. “Hate That I Made You Love Me” is now up to a lucky 13 periods on both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts as it returns to the pair of related rosters.
“Hate That I Made You Love Me” Appears on Six Lists
“The Girl in the Bubble,” “Twilight Zone,” “Defying Gravity” and “Yes, And?” can only be located on the rankings where they return this week. That is not the case for “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” which appears on another four U.K. charts in addition to the two where it is back.
“Hate That I Made You Love Me” is a top 40 hit on the Official Singles Sales, Official Singles, Official Singles Downloads and Official Streaming charts all at once. The cut rises on both sales-focused lists while declining on the Official Singles and Official Streaming charts. On the latter, it falls outside the top 10 after settling at No. 10 last frame.
Two More Ariana Grande Songs Remain U.K. Hits
Another two Grande tracks are winners in the U.K., though neither appears on the Official Physical Singles or Official Vinyl Singles charts. “Petal” declines on both the Official Singles and Official Streaming rankings, falling to Nos. 35 and 93, respectively.
“Kiss Me” can be found only on the main ranking of the most popular songs in the country. Nearly a month into its run, the Petal track declines to No. 91 after previously climbing as high as No. 15 and missing the top 10 by only a few rungs.
