Key Facts
Umar Kremlev paid to rent out the private islands and other large expenses, such as a fireworks show, and event planning, ProPublica reported, citing records and interviews with three anonymous sources.
Trump Jr. married Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson in May.
A spokesperson for Trump Jr. did not deny Kremlev’s involvement, telling ProPublica he’s “a personal friend” Trump Jr. met through hunting and that the two are not in business together.
Kremlev’s office told the outlet the two “have a friendly relationship” and “first met a couple of years ago,” adding “Mr. Kremlev has never discussed political matters with any of his American friends and acquaintances,” including Trump Jr.
