Chris Stapleton first appeared on the Billboard 200, the chart company’s ranking of the most popular albums in America, a little more than a decade ago. Traveller, his debut solo set, arrived on the roster in May 2015, and by the end of that year it became his first No. 1 and, so far, only champion.
That project continues to perform well years after it launched the singer to stardom, and since then, Stapleton has dropped four additional full-lengths. All of his projects have broken into not only the top 10 on the Billboard 200, but the top three spaces on the competitive rundown.
One of Stapleton’s most popular albums reaches a longevity milestone that only a handful of country acts will ever have a shot at matching on the Billboard 200 – one which the Grammy winner has seen before.
Chris Stapleton’s Starting Over Reaches 300 Weeks
Starting Over, Stapleton’s fourth album, reaches 300 weeks on the Billboard 200 as of this frame. The set, which arrived in the fall of 2020, rises eight spaces to No. 140 as it celebrates the milestone.
Starting Over once climbed as high as No. 3 on the Billboard 200. That placement ties the full-length with Higher as Stapleton’s lowest-peaking studio effort so far on the tally. That’s a remarkable statement, considering both still reached the top three.
Chris Stapleton Has Scored Two 300-Week Albums
Starting Over is Stapleton’s second title to rack up at least 300 turns on the Billboard 200. Traveller is well ahead of this latest win, as his debut is only a few months shy of becoming one of the 200 most-consumed albums in the United States.
Traveller is still present on the same ranking as well, and just like Starting Over, it gains ground this time around. The blockbuster steps up half a dozen spots, pushing from No. 127 to No. 121.
Of the five releases Stapleton has sent to the Billboard 200, only one has failed to hold on for at least a year. From A Room: Volume 2 debuted at No. 2 and vanished after 45 weeks. Higher accumulated 148 frames, while the first From A Room collection disappeared after an exact 100 periods on the tally.
Starting Over Returns to the Americana/Folk Albums Top 10
Starting Over appears on three Billboard charts this week. As it reaches 300 weeks on the Billboard 200, the full-length breaks back into the top 10 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart, advancing a pair of spots to No. 9. The project is stationary on the Top Country Albums ranking, where it holds at No. 24. Starting Over has previously ruled both genre-focused rosters.
Three Chris Stapleton Albums Chart Together
Traveller and Higher join Starting Over on both the Top Country Albums and Americana/Folk Albums charts this period. All three projects gain ground on the latter ranking.
Traveller rises two spaces to No. 7 on the Americana/Folk Albums tally, while Starting Over moves to No. 9 and Higher inches north to No. 15. On the Top Country Albums chart, Traveller returns to the top 20 – at No. 20 – Starting Over holds at No. 24 and Higher slips one rung to No. 38, narrowly holding on inside the top 40 region.
Chris Stapleton Scores a New Country Hit
Stapleton’s success on the charts this week isn’t limited to albums. The superstar also collects a new hit as “Here,” his collaboration with Mumford & Sons, debuts on the Hot Country Songs chart at No. 45. The track gives Stapleton his thirty-third career appearance on the ranking. Mumford & Sons, meanwhile, reaches the Hot Country Songs roster for the first time with the collaboration.
