Evanescence fans waited half a decade between the band’s two most recent album releases. The group dropped The Bitter Truth in 2021, while Sanctuary launched in June of this year.
Months after the Grammy-winning outfit’s sixth full-length dropped, it’s back on the Billboard charts. Sanctuary returns to multiple rosters while simultaneously earning Evanescence another top 10 on a competitive sales list.
Evanescence’s Sanctuary Debuts on the Vinyl Albums Chart
On this week’s Vinyl Albums chart, the ranking of the top-selling titles of any genre on wax, Sanctuary finally arrives. The full-length did not become available on the format until months after fans could stream the set and buy it digitally. This time around, Sanctuary opens at No. 6.
Since first appearing on the Vinyl Albums ranking in 2013, Evanescence has sent four projects to the waxy roster. All but one of those releases have found space within the top 10 for at least a single period.
The Ultimate Collection stands as the group’s highest-ranking hit, as it peaked at No. 3. Fallen, which introduced Evanescence to the world more than two decades ago, rocked as high as No. 4. The Bitter Truth is the only collection by the troupe to fail to crack the top 10. It spent one week at No. 21 several years back when it was new, and then disappeared.
Evanescence Scores One of the Week’s Biggest Vinyl Debuts
Nearly half of all the spaces on the Vinyl Albums chart this week are occupied by debuts. 11 releases appear for the first time, and Evanescence scores the fourth-loftiest entry. The group trails Adela’s Prima, Beyoncé’s sophomore solo album B’Day and Zara Larsson’s Midnight Sun, which enter the race at Nos. 1, 2 and 5, respectively.

Sanctuary Returns to Two More Billboard Charts
The long-awaited vinyl release also helps Sanctuary return to another two rankings this frame. The project reenters the Top Album Sales chart at No. 14 and the Top Hard Rock Albums roster at No. 24. Sanctuary previously peaked at No. 3 on each of those two tallies.
Evanescence’s Fallen Remains the Band’s Biggest Chart Hit
Sanctuary may be Evanescence’s highest-ranking win at the moment on at least one roster, but Fallen, the group’s debut set, remains its biggest overall chart success. The blockbuster appears on four Billboard rankings this frame and becomes a bestseller again alongside Sanctuary as it finds its way back to the Top Album Sales chart at No. 42.
Fallen also gains ground on the Billboard 200, surging just four spaces to No. 180. The decades-old full-length holds on both the Top Hard Rock Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts at Nos. 14 and 49, respectively.
