Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo is still set to make his boxing debut on September 26 at the James L. Knight Center, but the opponent has changed. Originally, Cejudo was set to face boxer/influencer Deen the Great, but the latter had to bow out with an injury. Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton, the 20-year-old actor-turned-boxer from Euphoria fame is stepping in to save the main event — or so the promoters hope. Let’s talk boxing.

Walton is on loan from Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions and enters at 3-0-1, though he has not fought since beating Anthony Mora in September 2025. Cejudo, 39, retired from the UFC for a second time after losing to Payton Talbott in December 2025.

The co-main event might deliver as many fans as the featured bout. Another former UFC great, Tony Ferguson is back in action in the Misfits boxing ring. He is the reigning Misfits middleweight champion and he defends against Kenzo Biyong.

Don’t get it twisted. Walton is a bit more than a celebrity boxer and it is possible he could bring a bigger challenge than Deen would have in this spot. I’ve seen Walton fight in person in Puerto Rico on a Jake Paul undercard and he takes the sport seriously. So while losing Deen may remove some of the commercial and recency appeal, Walton stepping in could make the fight better.
Walton is a more experienced boxer than Cejudo and we might see that shine through. Let’s also not forget he is 19 years younger than Cejudo. At this point in Cejudo’s career, it’s tough to identify what he has to prove in the combat sports world. Maybe the answer is nothing and he just wants another payday. In any case, this is the fight we’re getting and I’ll have coverage later in the week.
