Since releasing its debut album All We Know Is Falling more than 20 years ago, much of the music Paramore has shared with the public can be classified as rock, although the group has changed things up from era to era. Some of Paramore’s work fits under the pop label, while alternative seems to work perfectly for nearly everything the musicians have produced.
Paramore typically fills multiple spaces on one chart in the United Kingdom, and several tunes appear on the genre-specific roster this frame. One of the Grammy-winning outfit’s most popular smashes brings the band to a milestone never seen before, but one which is fairly commonplace on the tally.
Paramore’s “Still Into You” Reaches 500 Weeks
“Still Into You” reaches 500 weeks on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, the ranking of the most popular tunes in those styles in the U.K. This frame, the long-running smash lifts four spots, improving its standing from No. 18 to No. 14.
“Still Into You” is the first cut by Paramore to hit 500 frames on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. In fact, it’s one of only two titles by the band to hold on for triple-digit frames. “The Only Exception” is up to 107 stints on the same tally – a figure that grows this period.
Three other hits by Paramore — “Ain’t It Fun,” “Ignorance,” and “Brick by Boring Brick” — have managed runs exceeding a year. They have landed on the list for 95, 56, and 55 weeks, respectively.
25 Current Rock Hits Have Spent 500 Weeks on the List
The Official Rock & Metal Singles chart features 40 spaces, and amazingly, more than half of the tunes present on this week’s rundown have found a home on the tally for at least 500 weeks. 25 in total have done so, with one, “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls, recently passing 1,000 frames – twice as long as “Still Into You.”
The roundup of tracks more successful in terms of longevity than Paramore’s classic includes multiple smashes by Linkin Park, Guns N’ Roses, Queen, and a trio from Australian hard rock outfit AC/DC. When U.K. listeners love a rock song, they tend to keep buying and streaming it long after its promotional run has ended, and it may be only a matter of months before “Still Into You” celebrates its first 10-year period somewhere on the register.
Paramore Fills Three Spaces on the U.K.’s Rock Chart
This week, Paramore owns nearly 10% of the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart as the group scores three hits on the tally. At the same time that “Still Into You” climbs to No. 14, “The Only Exception” advances from No. 34 to No. 25. “All I Wanted” barely hangs on, dipping from No. 38 to last place, No. 40.
Paramore’s Brand New Eyes Climbs
Only one full-length by Paramore is present on the U.K. charts. Brand New Eyes lifts from No. 30 to No. 27 on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart after previously conquering the genre-specific rundown. Brand New Eyes features some of Paramore’s biggest hits, including “Ignorance,” “The Only Exception,” and “Brick by Boring Brick,” while “Still Into You,” as well as “Ain’t It Fun,” were chosen as singles from the outfit’s self-titled 2013 project.
