Ever since Netflix unleashed its animated juggernaut KPop Demon Hunters onto the world, the soundtrack album that accompanies the movie, as well as multiple tunes featured on its tracklist, have lived across a variety of Billboard charts. Every single cut written and recorded for the project became a commercial win, but none matched the incredible success of “Golden.”
That track, which recently became the first K-pop song to win a Grammy and which is currently nominated for an Academy Award, remains a proper smash in the United States. In fact, the tune even manages to rise on several rankings.
As “Golden,” once again, stands out as one of the top-selling compositions in the nation, the single ties one of the most important and impressive names in K-pop history.
“Golden” Climbs on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart
“Golden” continues to find space on Billboard‘s Digital Song Sales chart. This week, the smash improves from No. 20 to No. 12, nearing the highest tier once more. Luminate reports that in the most recent tracking period, which is reflected on the lists available on Billboard‘s website at the moment, “Golden” sold just under 2,400 copies on digital download storefronts such as iTunes. That sum is down 24% from the period prior, yet it manages to rise due to the fact that it’s a fairly quiet moment for bestsellers.
“Golden” Matches BTS’s “Dynamite”
“Golden” has now spent 34 weeks on the Digital Song Sales chart. That’s an incredible run for any piece of music, and it’s especially notable when looking solely at K-pop. “Golden” is now matched with “Dynamite” by BTS as the second-longest-running hit of all time that can be classified as K-pop. Both tunes have spent 34 frames on the rundown, and it seems likely that in only a matter of hours, when Billboard refreshes its rosters, “Golden” Huntr/x, as well as vocalists Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, will likely pass the South Korean septet.
BTS’s “Dynamite” and “Butter” Still Hold the All-Time Record
While “Golden” may soon best “Dynamite” in terms of longevity on the Digital Song Sales chart, it will almost certainly never match BTS’s run in the top spot. “Dynamite” is tied with the same boy band’s “Butter” as the longest-running No. 1s in the history of the Digital Song Sales roster. Both cuts, which earned BTS Grammy nominations, ruled for 18 frames, just months apart from one another.
“Golden” only lived at No. 1 for five weeks, and while that pales in comparison to BTS’s showing, the KPop Demon Hunters tune does manage to stand out as one of the longest-running champions among tracks from South Korean artists, or which are performed at least partially in Korean, on the tally.
“Apt.” by Rosé and Bruno Mars Leads All K-Pop Songs in Longevity
Only “Apt.” by Blackpink star Rosé and Bruno Mars has spent more time on the Digital Song Sales chart than either “Golden” or “Dynamite.” “Apt.,” which recently was nominated for several Grammys, including both Record and Song of the Year – a first for K-pop – managed 39 turns on the rundown, beginning in late 2024.
“Golden” Rises on Multiple Billboard Rankings
“Golden” makes space on nine Billboard charts this week, and it improves its standing on nearly half of them. In addition to the Digital Song Sales roster, “Golden” steps up on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Hot 100, and it settles at No. 7 on both of them. The same Oscar-nominated single lifts to No. 12 on the Streaming Songs roster, matching its performance on the Digital Song Sales chart.

“Golden” is steady on two of Billboard’s three pop radio lists and even remains at No. 7, its all-time high, on the Adult Contemporary rundown.
