HBO Max is no stranger to high-quality programming, but even so, it rarely has series that have multiple 100% Rotten Tomatoes-scored seasons, much less ones where all of its seasons have that score. But a returning show has hit that mark, and even with reviews coming in, it seems unlikely to lose it.
You could argue that My Adventures with Superman is the best iteration of Superman currently airing, given that James Gunn’s live-action version is a bit more controversial. Audiences disagree, however, with that version having a 90% Rotten Tomatoes audience score and My Adventures with Superman at an 80%. But critics have never failed to be impressed across three seasons now.
The series is yet another animated reimagining of the classic hero, once the most famous in the world, but at this point, I believe, has been passed by Batman and now #1, Spider-Man. But he’s still a big deal.
The thing about a Superman animated series is that you don’t have to cast an actor who could be Superman in real life. And no offense to The Boys’ Jack Quaid, he fits that bill, but he does an excellent job with Clark’s voicework in this series, as does his supporting cast, such as Alice Lee as Lois Lane, Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olsen and Max Mittelman as Lex Luthor.

Now in season 3, My Adventures with Superman is expanding the cast with the arrival of Cyborg Superman and Superboy, adding to Kara Zor-El, Supergirl, who joined last season. The show is working its way through Superman lore at its own pace, and serves as a sort of non-DCU replacement for the also non-DCU Superman and Lois, which ended after four seasons in 2024 (and incidentally featured new Obsession megastar, Inde Navarrette, as Lana Lang’s daughter). James Gunn has made some animated series like Creature Commandos canon to the DCU, but as an “Elseworlds” project, this is a separate version and not some sort of side-adventure of the David Corenswet version, as this predates it.
There doesn’t seem to be a current plan to wrap up My Adventures with Superman, and I don’t see why there would be, given that the series continues to produce high-quality content as WB pushes DC overall. The famed Superman: The Animated Series ran from 1996 to 2000 over four seasons, the sibling show to the even more beloved Batman: The Animated Series. So, it seems likely that My Adventures with Superman will at least tie that.
Season 3 of the show premieres tomorrow, Sunday, June 14, and we can see what all the hype is about with yet another 100% score.
