In the span of only about a decade and a half, Bruno Mars has proved himself to be not simply a hitmaker, but the kind of star who can repeatedly produce songs that the American public loves to hear on the radio. The singer-songwriter ranks as one of the most successful artists of all time on Billboard’s Radio Songs chart, which tracks the tunes that reach the largest audiences via stations that focus on any and all formats (genres) throughout the United States.
Mars already claims one of the greatest collections of champions in the history of the ranking, and he is very close to earning another. As his recent historic smash falls slightly, his newer single rises and makes a play for the top spot. Should the Grammy winner conquer the roster again, he will break out of an important tie and move one step closer to the all-time record.
Bruno Mars Could Score a Twelfth No. 1
Should “Risk It All” eventually reach No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart, it will become Mars’s twelfth champion. He would be only the second artist in the history of the roster to collect that many leaders.
Mars is currently tied with Mariah Carey, as both superstars have earned 11 No. 1 hits. They jointly claim the second-most rulers of all time.

Rihanna remains in first place with 13 champions. If “Risk It All” manages to dominate, Mars will break his tie with Carey and move within one hit of matching the record.

“Risk It All” Matches “24K Magic” As It Re-Peaks
“Risk It All” is one of only two Mars tracks to peak at No. 3 on the Radio Songs chart. “24K Magic,” the title track from his most recent solo album before The Romantic, also stalled in that position nearly a decade ago, in December 2016.
Another two Mars hits missed out on ruling by only one rung. “It Will Rain” and “Lighters,” his collaboration with Bad Meets Evil – the duo comprising Eminem and Royce da 5’9” – both reached No. 2.
Bruno Mars Claims Two Top Five Radio Hits This Week
Mars fills two spaces inside the top five on the Radio Songs chart at the moment. While “Risk It All” moves up to No. 3, “I Just Might” slips from second place to fourth. “I Just Might” previously controlled the Radio Songs chart for 21 weeks. That run stands as the fourth-longest reign in the history of the tally.
Bruno Mars Holds on Three Pop Radio Charts
“Risk It All” also appears on all three of Billboard’s pop-focused radio rankings. The single holds at its all-time high on each and every one of them this week. The track remains at Nos. 2, 5 and 12 on the Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay and Adult Contemporary charts, respectively.
