Nvidia shares jumped almost 10% to nearly $230 on Thursday, as investors reacted to blowout second-quarter earnings and a forecast for substantial AI-driven growth through its next fiscal year.

Nvidia shares rose more than 9.6% to around $292.82 as of just after 1 p.m. EDT on Thursday afternoon, sharpening a rally after they jumped about 7% in the first hour of trading.
The rally pushed the market capitalization of the world’s most valuable company back above the $5.5 trillion mark
The company reported $96.2 billion in second-quarter revenue on Wednesday, up 106% from a year earlier and above the $92.2 billion analysts forecasted.
Nvidia forecast $108 billion in third-quarter revenue, plus or minus 2%, and management said it expects about 70% revenue growth in fiscal year 2028.
