Ella Langley has scored one of the longest-running No. 1 hits of all time with her single “Choosin’ Texas.” The tune is easily the biggest smash of the year and it will be remembered as the rare country cut to top the Billboard Hot 100, as well as many other tallies in America.
“Choosin’ Texas” has now led the charge for months on various rosters, and as it holds court at No. 1 once more, the track makes history on several lists simultaneously. On the Streaming Songs ranking, Langley has only ever landed one champion, but it has turned out to be one of the sturdiest smashes of all time.
Ella Langley Rules the Streaming Songs Chart Again
“Choosin’ Texas” once again controls the Streaming Songs chart, Billboard’s ranking of the most-played tracks of any style or language on streaming platforms throughout the United States. The single has now spent 44 weeks on the roster, and 19 of those frames — just under half of its entire run – have been at No. 1.
“Choosin’ Texas” Ties Morgan Wallen’s Record
With 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart, “Choosin’ Texas” ties as the third-longest-running ruler in the history of the ranking. Langley matches Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night,” which managed a similar 19-frame run in first place back in 2023.
Ella Langley Could Move Up Again Next Week
In a matter of days, “Choosin’ Texas” will likely pass “Last Night” and match another country blockbuster. “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus ruled the Streaming Songs tally for an even 20 weeks in 2019. It seems highly likely that Langley’s smash will reach that landmark and then almost certainly move beyond that historic sum as well
The all-time record still belongs to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which has thus far accumulated 26 weeks – half a year – at No. 1. Those frames have been spread across more than half a decade, as the holiday staple first reached the summit in 2019 and has added to its cumulative total almost every year since. That includes in 2026, as it opened the year as the most-streamed track in the nation.
Ella Langley Has Five Streaming Chart Top 10s
The incredible popularity of “Choosin’ Texas” has helped Langley score several of the biggest streaming hits of her career. She has now collected five top 10s from 10 total placements on the Streaming Songs chart, and all of them reached that competitive tier this year – following her breakout blockbuster.
“Choosin’ Texas” debuted on the roster last November and first hit No. 1 in late January. “Be Her” peaked at No. 2 in April, while “Loving Life Again” and “Bottom of Your Boots,” both featured on Dandelion, climbed as high as Nos. 6 and 7, respectively. “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” Langley’s collaboration with Wallen, reached No. 3 only a few months ago, in May.
“Choosin’ Texas” Leads Five Billboard Charts
“Choosin’ Texas” controls five Billboard charts this week. The cut holds at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Streaming Songs, Digital Song Sales, Hot Country Songs and Country Streaming Songs charts. The tune’s showing is historic on all of them, and Langley’s hit moves up on several all-time rankings this frame.
The country smash has now spent 19 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, tying as the second-longest-running ruler ever. Its 16 frames in charge of the Digital Song Sales chart match “Old Town Road” as the fourth-longest reign in that roster’s history. Ahead of Langley are “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber, as well as BTS’s “Dynamite” and “Butter,” with the latter two tied for the all-time record at 18 weeks apiece.
