Vidineac’s filing says the Tates’ Romanian investigation spans 30 terabytes of electronic evidence, including “hundreds of hours of recordings,” as well as 112,957 pages of documents. What Do We Know About The Tates’ Romanian Case?

The Tates’ June 2023 Romanian indictment accused the brothers of trafficking and exploiting women by forcing them to live in a compound and appear in pornographic videos, the New York Times reported. The Times also reported Andrew Tate was charged with rape. In December 2024, the Bucharest Court of Appeals ruled the case did not meet requirements to go to trial, sending the indictment back to prosecutors. The court said it had identified issues with “the manner of presenting the facts and describing the constituent elements in the case.” In February 2025, Romanian authorities lifted a travel ban on the Tate brothers but said the investigation was still ongoing, after which the Tates departed the country for the United States.

In court last week, the Tates’ lawyers said the brothers often exaggerate their wealth on social media to portray themselves as “uberwealthy,” saying they are “playing a role” to generate clicks and income.
