Ariana Grande’s latest album Petal is only about a month old, but even at this early age, the set is already falling on most Billboard charts this week. By now many of the project’s tunes have disappeared from the rankings entirely.
The only tunes featured on Petal that are still going strong are the singles “Hate That I Made You Love Me” and the title track. This time around, both cuts reach new peak positions, while “Petal” also debuts on multiple tallies at the same time.
Ariana Grande’s “Petal” Debuts on Two Radio Charts
“Petal” launches on both the Adult Pop Airplay and Radio Songs charts this week, opening at Nos. 37 and 47, respectively. Both rankings focus on radio activity, though the Radio Songs chart measures audience impressions across a wide variety of formats, while the Adult Pop Airplay tally concentrates specifically on stations that program adult-oriented pop music. “Petal” becomes Grande’s thirty-second hit on the Radio Songs roster and her thirty-fourth on the Adult Pop Airplay rundown.
“Petal” Reaches Another New High
At the same time that “Petal” debuts on those two rankings, the single rises to a new peak on another radio tally. The cut jumps three spaces to No. 18 on the Pop Airplay chart, reaching that new high four weeks into its run.
“Petal” simultaneously declines on the Billboard Hot 100, the Streaming Songs chart and both of Billboard’s worldwide rankings, though it remains a top 40 hit on all four at once.
“Hate That I Made You Love Me” Hits New Radio Peaks
“Hate That I Made You Love Me” reaches new peaks on three of Billboard’s radio rankings this week, and it sits inside the top 10 on all of them. The single soars to Nos. 2, 3 and 6 on the Rhythmic Airplay, Pop Airplay and Radio Songs charts, respectively. It also holds at its all-time highest placement of No. 8 on the Adult Pop Airplay rundown.
Four Older Ariana Grande Hits Remain on the Global Charts
Four other tracks by Grande appear on at least one Billboard chart this week, though none are connected to Petal. “Save Your Tears” and “Die for You” – two of her collaborations with The Weeknd – as well as Grande’s own “Into You” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love),” all live on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Of that group, only “Die for You” rises on both rankings.
