Throughout much of 2026, Katy Perry has been riding high on Billboard’s worldwide charts with her song “The One That Got Away.” The tune was originally released as the sixth single from her blockbuster album Teenage Dream, and it was chosen as a promotional cut well over a decade ago. “The One That Got Away” went viral on TikTok only a few months back, and that popularity transferred over to traditional sales and streams.
Week after week, the years-old cut climbed higher and higher, and eventually it became Perry’s loftiest win on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The success of “The One That Got Away” has helped several other tunes featured in Perry’s catalog debut on the planet-spanning lists, and another one joins in the fun this week.
Katy Perry’s “Legendary Lovers” Debuts Globally
“Legendary Lovers” debuts at No. 192 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., arriving very close to the bottom of the 200-space list. The ranking measures the most-consumed songs around the world using sales and streaming activity, but unlike the related Billboard Global 200, all consumption originating in the United States is left out of its methodology.
Katy Perry Scores Her Eighth Global Hit
“Legendary Lovers” becomes Perry’s eighth career win on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Amazingly, it is her third track to launch on the tally this year.
“The One That Got Away” arrived in April and eventually soared to No. 15, a position it reached only last month. “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” debuted about a month later, though that former smash managed only a single frame at No. 198 before disappearing.
“Legendary Lovers” Becomes One of Katy Perry’s Lowest-Peaking Hits
“Legendary Lovers” currently stands as Perry’s second-lowest-peaking hit on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The song grabs that distinction from “Dark Horse,” her Grammy-nominated collaboration with Juicy J.
“Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” remains Perry’s weakest performer on the worldwide ranking, as it stalled half a dozen spaces further down on the list compared to where “Legendary Lovers” enters this time around. Notably, “Legendary Lovers” has yet to appear on the Billboard Global 200, where Perry has racked up seven hits. If listeners around the world continue to discover — or rediscover — the Prism cut, it may soon become a truly worldwide win.
Katy Perry Scores Two Other Billboard-Charting Hits
Two other Perry songs are present on Billboard charts this week. “The One That Got Away” declines on both worldwide rankings, slipping to No. 31 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 22 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S.
At the same time, Perry’s much newer “Watch It Burn” – which was released only a few weeks ago to capitalize on the renewed success of “The One That Got Away” – gains ground at radio. The single lifts three spaces from No. 38 to No. 35 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, though it remains several rungs beneath its No. 30 high point.
