The best-dressed players at the 2026 U.S. Open embraced the entertainment element of tennis’ biggest stage by showcasing New York City fashion-week-worthy outfits.
Since mushrooming from a tennis event to a two-week cocktail party, the U.S. Open has become the Slam where fashion comes to show up and show out.
Some players stood out, like Naomi Osaka and her Allen Iverson tribute, and Taylor Townsend, who turned the Billie Jean King Center into a trunk show.
Here are some of the best fashion moments at this year’s U.S. Open.
Best Dresses
Alexandra Eala: Queen In Royal Blue

Alexandra Eala is one of many Nike athletes sporting the basketball-inspired looks at the U.S. Open. The royal blue dress with white piping was among the best of the bunch. The netting on the side presented a less jarring look than the full-frontal netting seen on Aryna Sabalenka.
Marta Kostyuk: Winning In Wilson

Marta Kostyuk is having her best year and will probably leave New York as a Top 10 player with a career-high ranking. She’s also taken Wilson apparel to a new level on the court. Kostyuk’s dresses are always among the best at any Major. The red Wilson New York Laser Cut Pleat Dress features a racerback cutout and ribbed waistband.

After a brutal Saturday, Coco Gauff is one of ten Americans remaining in the U.S. Open. That means she gets more time to show off her New Balance kits. She’s worn different outfits, with her third-round dress perhaps the most fashionable. Inspired by the New York City Garment District, Gauff’s dress features a cloud-like yellow-and-white design.

Asics ambassadors Belinda Bencic and Jasmine Paolini wore similar Night Energy collection kits; however, Sonmez’s combination of the purple sleeve, fuchsia wristband, and visor proved the most stunning.
Best Bling
Ever since Chris Evert broke a bracelet on court in the 1970s, inspiring the term “tennis bracelet,” jewelry has been an acceptable part of a players’ match-day attire. Today, several players have jewelry endorsement deals, bringing more bling to Billie Jean King.

Frances Tiafoe wears a diamond-studded necklace with his nickname, Big Foe. Tiafoe’s father gave him his first Big Foe necklace, which was silver-plated. Tiafoe upgraded to diamonds and collaborates with various brands.

Sabalenka wore a $110,000 custom-made necklace from New York jeweler Material Good. The No. 1 seed said New York City inspired the design.
“It’s colorful. Bold. Fun. It’s vintage-looking. Different shapes, different stones. Literally I feel like it describes New York perfectly,” Sabalenka said in an on-court interview after her second-round win.

Qinwen Zheng staged an epic comeback against Madison Keys. She also upstaged all the other Nike ambassadors who wore the two-piece basketball inspired skirt and tank top. Although Zheng has fallen in the rankings since suffering an injury last year, she remains one of the highest paid tennis players in the world.
Best Walkout Kits
Osaka is a trendsetter. More tennis players are prioritizing their walkout attire. Like a boxer’s walkup to the ring, the tennis walkout lets players announce their arrival with swag.

Gauff’s clothing sponsor is New Balance. Head is her racket sponsor. The No. 4 seed coordinates her racket gear with her New Balance looks. The oversized purple tote complements the Head racket bag. The best thing about Gauff’s gear is that it’s fashionable, yet approachable, regular-folks friendly. Sure, Osaka rocks some interesting walkout fashion, but most folks won’t wear that to the local tennis court.

Although she lost her first-round doubles match with her sister Venus, Serena Williams made a statement in a blue custom Nike varsity jacket that featured every year she won the a title at the U.S. Open (in singles or doubles) on its sleeves. The 23-time Major Champion needed both sleeves to pull that off.

Taylor Townsend and Naomi Osaka are good friends. They vacation together and apparently share taste in walkout attire. Townsend wore a full-length black fringed coat over a black and silver dress for her fourth-round match against Aryna Sabalenka. This type of daring black look is usually reserved for night-time matches. Maybe Townsend sensed that getting past No. 1 seed Sabalenka would be a tall ask and figured, why not now.
Townsend’s fringe fest echoed most of the U.S. Open scene. From the attire to the walkout to the bling, it’s all part of the showy atmosphere at tennis’ biggest tournament.
