At WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event, two marquee stars who’ve headed in opposite directions in 2026 finally crossed paths.

For much of this year, Oba Femi, the 2026 King of the Ring winner, has taken WWE by storm. The opposite has been true for Bron Breakker, who’s been bitten by the injury bug and grown frustrated with his creative direction after plans for him to win the 2026 Royal Rumble were ultimately scrapped.

As Femi entered WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event fresh off retiring the legendary Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, Breakker headed to the State Farm Arena looking to pick up the biggest singles win of his young career and get his main event push back on track.

WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event 2026 Results For Bron Breakker Vs. Oba Femi

Breakker will have to wait a little longer for his next major singles victory.

At WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event, Breakker fell just short against Femi thanks to a disqualification loss courtesy of a returning Bronson Reed. Indeed, the second-generation star ran into a brick wall named Oba Femi, and it took the entire Vision to take Femi out.

Even though Femi technically won the match, it was Reed, Breakker and The Vision who stood tall in Atlanta.

Here are the biggest highlights and moments from Femi vs. Breakker at WWE SNME:

  • Femi and Breakker stared each other down as soon as the bell ring, then engaged in a classic test of strength. The two rising stars collided with a pair of shoulder blocks, but neither man fell down. Breakker ducked a couple of clotheslines and then ran right into Femi, who finally knocked him off his feet.
  • Breakker rolled to the outside, Femi followed and tossed him onto the ring apron. Breakker responded by driving Femi into the post, but Femi responded with a massive smack to the chest that caused the crowd to erupt. Breakker eventually leaped off the apron and clotheslined Femi over the announce table.
  • Back in the ring, Breakker clotheslined Femi and took control of the match briefly. Eventually, Breakker hit a gutbuster and locked in a chokehold. Femi fought out momentarily, then Breakker caught him with a German suplex for a two-count. Breakker clotheslined Femi to the outside , then brought him back into the ring.
  • Femi fought of a sleeper hold and mounted a comeback. He hit an uppercut, then Breakker hit a running knee and a German suplex. Femi bounced right back up and blasted Breakker with a clothesline and running big boot. Femi hit a few more running uppercuts to take down Breakker.
  • Femi went for a chokeslam and nailed it for a very close nearfall. Breakker raked the eyes of Femi, who was attempting a suplex. Femi spilled to the outside, and Breakker went for a spear only to get caught with a nasty uppercut. Breakker’s tag team partner Austin Theory showed up but Femi tossed him through the announce table.
  • Breakker blasted Femi with a huge spear on the outside and another spear on the inside, but he shockingly kicked out. Suddenly, Logan Paul’s music hit, and he came out to help Breakker only to get immediately tossed out by the referee. With the ref distracted, Maxxine Dupri passed a pair of brass knuckles to Femi.
  • Breakker attempted to punch Femi with the knuckles, but Femi ducked. Just when it looked like Femi was going to take control, a returning Bronson Reed showed up out of nowhere and attacked Femi with a steel chair. That gave Femi the disqualification victory.
  • Post-match, a noticeably slimmed down Reed hit the Tsunami splash on Femi, then Breakker destroyed him with a spear. Finally, Reed hit yet another Tsunami, followed by a third one and a fourth, laying out “The Ruler” in devastating fashion as the crowd booed loudly.

WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event 2026 Results: What’s Next For Bron Breakker And Oba Femi?

Both Breakker and Femi are in a holding pattern of sorts through no fault of their own.

Breakker has been frustrated with his booking in The Vision, and truth be told, he’s clearly outgrown what has become a meaningless midcard faction. A feud with a top star like Femi is, on paper, a step in the right direction, but after a questionable loss to Lesnar at Clash in Italy earlier this year, Femi is clearly being protected by WWE’s creative team.

That’s because WWE is reportedly eyeing Femi vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 43 next year. If that is indeed the plan, Femi isn’t going to be losing anytime soon, nor should he. The problem for Breakker is that he’s been really hampered by bad booking this year, and he shouldn’t be losing either.

But Femi is clearly the bigger star in the eyes of WWE fans right now, and at Sunday Night’s Main Event, it was essentially confirmed that WWE officials feel the same way when it took Reed and the entire Vision faction to dismantle Femi. Yet, the problem is that if WWE is saving Femi vs. Reigns for next year, it’s going to be difficult to book Femi effectively while simultaneously keeping him away from the world title.

Because Femi is likely going to be stuck in non-title feuds for the foreseeable future, expect him to transition into a feud with Reed, Breakker and The Vision that will well beyond SNME.
