Mac Miller’s The Divine Feminine, the late artist’s fourth album, was recently reissued to celebrate the fact that it is turning 10. Miller dropped the project in September 2016, and a new multi-disc vinyl offering was recently posted in the superstar’s online store. The updated take includes multiple bonus tracks recorded during The Divine Feminine sessions, and all the excitement helps the album climb and one tune becomes a smash on a tally it has never reached before.
Miller posthumously scores yet another winner – and a milestone smash – on one tally, while a surprise viral hit from earlier in the year gains ground and reaches new peak positions on multiple lists simultaneously.
Mac Miller’s “Butterflies” Debuts on a Billboard Chart
“Butterflies” debuts on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart this week. The track opens at No. 39, becoming a top 40 hit on the list of the most popular tunes that can be classified as rap, R&B or hip-hop – though only barely.
Mac Miller Scores His Twenty-Fifth R&B/Hip-Hop Hit
“Butterflies” becomes Miller’s milestone twenty-fifth career placement on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The ranking measures the most popular R&B and hip-hop tunes in the United States using a methodology that blends streaming, sales and radio activity.
“Butterflies” is Miller’s second new hit on the roster this year. In April, “Cinderella,” his collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, debuted, and by June, the song had climbed to its No. 6 high point. “Cinderella” brought Miller to a new all-time peak on the competitive hip-hop and R&B tally years after his passing.
“Butterflies” Has Already Become a Rap Hit
“Butterflies” may be new to the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, but it is not entirely new to any of Billboard’s rankings. The track, which was chosen as a single from the tenth-anniversary edition of The Divine Feminine, has now spent months on the Hot Rap Songs tally, a more specific version of the broader R&B and hip-hop ranking.

“Butterflies” holds at No. 5 on the rap-only chart this week as it earns another turn on the list. The cut has spent 19 frames on the roster, where it has previously climbed all the way to No. 3.
Mac Miller’s “Cinderella” Reaches Two New Chart Peaks
“Cinderella” rises to new highs on two additional Billboard charts this frame. The Ty Dolla $ign team-up pushes one space to No. 16 on the Rhythmic Airplay chart while simultaneously surging to No. 98 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S.
On the latter ranking, Miller reaches a new all-time high. “Cinderella” is his only song to ever appear on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S.. which ranks the most-consumed songs around the world while excluding all sales and streaming activity originating in the United States. The related Billboard Global 200 includes American consumption as well.
On the Rhythmic Airplay chart, “Cinderella” now stands as Miller’s second-highest-charting win. Only “The Way,” his collaboration with Ariana Grande, has performed better. That song, which helped introduce Grande to the public more than a decade ago, missed out on ruling the radio rundown by one space back in July 2013.
“Cinderella” also holds at No. 23 on the Rap Airplay chart and is stationary at No. 3 on the Rap Streaming Songs tally. Otherwise, the single declines on most of the other Billboard rankings where it appears this week.
Mac Miller’s The Divine Feminine Surges on the Billboard 200
The Divine Feminine itself also enjoys a big week following its anniversary reissue. The set returns to the Top Rap Albums chart at No. 16 while climbing on two additional rankings.
The decade-old collection rises to No. 27 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, up from No. 45 last week. The release’s most impressive gain takes place on the Billboard 200. On that tally, The Divine Feminine vaults more than 50 spaces, leaping from No. 154 to No. 101, leaping over more than a quarter of the entire 200-position roster.
