Alex Warren struck it big only a few years into his music career with the song “Ordinary.” The track, which will likely be played on the radio and at events for decades to come, turned him into a superstar all around the planet. More than a year and a half after its release as a single, “Ordinary” is still present on charts in a number of nations, including both the United Kingdom and the United States.
In the first of those two countries, Warren’s latest album Wildchild enjoys a lofty debut on every tally where it appears. The set kicks off at No. 1 on most rankings, as Warren proves himself to be a repeat hitmaker across the Atlantic. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter reaches the summit for the first time on several tallies as he enjoys one of the biggest weeks of his career on the charts.
Alex Warren Scores New No. 1 Albums on Multiple Charts
Wildchild brings Warren to No. 1 for the first time on four of the six U.K. rankings where it debuts this frame. The full-length opens atop the Official Albums Sales, Official Album Downloads, Official Physical Albums and Official Vinyl Albums charts.
Alex Warren Charts His Second Official Albums No. 1
Wildchild is Warren’s second leader on the Official Albums chart, which ranks the most-consumed albums and EPs in the U.K. using a methodology that incorporates both sales and streaming activity. That makes the tally broader than the sales, downloads and physical-focused rankings where he scores his first No. 1s this week.
Warren first conquered the Official Albums chart with You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1). That project spent one frame ruling the roster and has now accumulated just under 90 weeks as one of the 100 most-consumed collections of any style in the country.
Wildchild Outperforms Alex Warren’s Previous Album
You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1) reached the same purchase-focused rosters as Wildchild, but it did not perform quite as well. Warren’s earlier release peaked at No. 2 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts.
It stopped one rung lower on the Official Album Downloads and Official Vinyl Albums tallies, peaking at No. 3 on the two. Wildchild improves upon all four of those previous career highs by debuting at No. 1 across nearly the board.
Alex Warren Lands Another Streaming Top 10
The Official Albums Streaming chart is the only ranking where Wildchild does not launch at No. 1. The album opens at No. 8, becoming Warren’s second career placement and second top 10 on the streaming-focused tally.
It is also the only roster where Wildchild fails to bring Warren to a new career high. You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1) came within one space of ruling when it peaked at No. 2 a little more than a year ago. Wildchild misses matching that best showing by several slots.
Alex Warren’s Previous Album Returns to Multiple Charts
You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1) is still present on five of the same rankings as Wildchild this week, and it returns to three of them. The first LP by Warren reenters both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts at No. 50, while breaking back onto the Official Album Downloads tally at No. 68.
The project moves in different directions on the two rosters where it never disappeared. You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1) rises several spaces to No. 21 on the Official Albums chart, while declining to No. 19 on the Official Albums Streaming ranking.
