President Donald Trump’s hair appeared visibly thinner as he left for Dallas on Wednesday before his speech at the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention, just a few weeks after it looked as if he received a hair boost and days after it appeared far more brown than usual.

Key Facts
Trump, who is scheduled to deliver a speech at the convention Wednesday and Thursday nights, seemed to have noticeably thinner hair when he left Joint Base Andrews in Maryland en route to Dallas.
Conditions on the tarmac appeared breezy, with Trump’s hair blowing in the wind in some photos.
The change comes after the president seemingly sported darker hair last week, breaking away from his signature blonde hairstyle.
Trump also had thicker-looking hair during a speech last month in Las Vegas, showing a more colorful and full comb-over, sparking speculation he received a hair piece.
The president in a speech last week denied accusations he wears a wig, citing a 2024 speech given during windy conditions in Ohio.
“They found out I did not wear a wig because if you did, it was not going to be on your head very long,” the president said.

Tangent
Trump flew to Dallas in the Qatar-gifted Air Force One, the security and defense capabilities of which have faced concerns. Before the plane took off for Dallas, its emergency slide was deployed. Trump said the crew deployed the slide to conduct an inspection.
Key Background
The varying states of Trump’s hair throughout his two terms have garnered attention and questions from observers, some of whom have speculated he uses a wig. The president has long denied using a wig and occasionally teased it. In 2018, he acknowledged a bald spot and said, “I try like hell to hide the bald spot, folks. I work at it,” during a Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland. Speculation about wigs, makeovers and hair pieces have seemingly increased the older the president has gotten. Trump is 80 years old and will be the oldest sitting U.S. president at the end of his term in January 2029.
