A little more than a year after its release – which came with very little warning – Justin Bieber’s Swag is a bestseller all around the world once more. The project was recently reissued on vinyl, a format that has become extremely popular in the past several years, especially with younger crowds.
Now that Swag has been made available on wax once more, superfans of the Canadian pop artist rushed to pick up a copy, and their dedication helps the full-length debut on multiple rosters in the United Kingdom. While scoring a new win is always good news, Swag has not turned out to be one of Bieber’s top performers.
Justin Bieber’s Swag Debuts on Two U.K. Charts
Swag debuts at No. 33 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart and nearly two dozen spaces lower, at No. 55, on the Official Physical Albums ranking. The former focuses only on purchases on wax, while the latter is more all-encompassing, as it also factors in sales on other physical formats such as CD and cassette.
Justin Bieber Hits a New Low on One Chart
As Swag arrives on the Official Physical Albums ranking, Bieber hits a new career low. The set is his first to miss the top 20 on the roster. Previously, Never Say Never – The Remixes, which only climbed as high as No. 15, stood out as the Grammy winner’s worst performer. That distinction has now been snagged by Swag, which is Bieber’s ninth title to land on the Official Physical Albums list.
Justin Bieber Nearly Matches His Lowest Vinyl Chart Peak
Swag almost matches Bieber’s lowest peak on the Official Vinyl Albums chart, where only four of his projects have sold well enough to appear. The collection enters at No. 33, barely beating the least impressive showing within his catalog on the format-specific roster.
Justice, Bieber’s most recent win before this week, broke onto the Official Vinyl Albums tally more than half a decade ago. It spent one frame at No. 34 and hasn’t been seen since.
Swag Reaches a New Sales Ranking High
Swag is not new to the Official Albums Sales chart, which details the top-selling releases of any kind and via any format in the U.K. But as it returns, the collection does establish a new peak. The studio effort reenters the sales race at No. 61. That’s five rungs higher than where it launched last July.
That placement marks a new peak for Swag, but it still ranks as a disappointment compared to Bieber’s other successes on the tally. His only three other bestsellers on the Official Albums Sales ranking have all risen into the top five. Both Purpose and Justice missed out on ruling by a single spot, while Changes peaked in fourth place.
Justin Bieber’s Swag Returns to the R&B Tally
Swag also returns to one additional U.K. roster this week. The pop and R&B hybrid reenters the Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums chart at No. 4 – one rung beneath its No. 3 best showing.
Among all four tallies where Swag can be found in the U.K., it has spent the most time on the genre-focused ranking. The project is now up to 12 frames on the Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums roster – far longer than its runs on the three sales-focused lists where it also appears this week.
