Get ready faithfuls, Peacock has announced the 23 celebrities heading to the Scottish Highlands for Season 5 of The Traitors. The hit social-deduction series, adapted from the Dutch show De Verraders, challenges players to navigate deception, middle-of-the-night “murders,” and high-stakes roundtables to claim the cash prize.
For the uninitiated, The Traitors takes a group of celebrities, split between Faithfuls and Traitors, and sends them to a castle in the Scottish Highlands. There, the Traitors secretly eliminate players in the middle of the night while the Faithfuls attempt to identify and banish them before the money runs out.

The US celebrity version averaged its highest viewership in Season 4 and walked away from the 2026 Emmys with Outstanding Reality Competition Program, with Alan Cumming accepting the award while asking the room to vote. NBC has since launched a civilian spinoff, The Traitors: New Blood (premiered September 17), making the upcoming celebrity edition technically the show’s U.S. sixth season overall.
Season 5 is the franchise’s most actor-heavy celebrity cast so far, alongside the usual strong showing from the Bravo universe and a handful of names that will mean different things to different niches of the internet.
How Big ‘The Traitors’ Has Become

At the start of 2026, the format passed the 40-territory milestone, with new versions in Indonesia, Slovakia, Estonia, Serbia, and Malta announced alongside recent commissions in Turkey, Brazil, Mexico and South Korea. An Indian version on Prime Video was picked up for a second season after a strong debut. The format has also won eight Emmy Awards in total (including Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Host for Alan Cumming) alongside two BAFTAs, two RTS Awards, five Asian Academy Creative Awards, a Rose d’Or and a Producers Guild Award.
In the UK, the civilian version of The Traitors grew from an average of 3.7 million viewers in its first series in 2022 to 9.3 million in Series 3 in January 2025.
Its celebrity spin-off called The Celebrity Traitors, hosted by Claudia Winkleman went on to shatter those figures as well, averaging 14.9 million viewers across its October-November 2025 run and peaking at 15.4 million for its finale, making it the best-performing entertainment episode in Britain in nearly a decade and the biggest TV audience of 2025. The BBC has since committed to both versions of the show through 2030. Series 2 of The Celebrity Traitors with Bella Ramsey and Michael Sheen will come to BBC One this autumn.

Kristin Chenoweth is first on the billing and isn’t entirely new to the players; the original Galinda Upland and host Alan Cumming previously co-hosted the Tony Awards together and played opposite each other in the 1999 film adaptation of Annie and in Schmigadoon!.

Meanwhile, Whitney Leavitt of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will be the first cast member from that show to appear on The Traitors. Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim and former NFL player Rashad Jennings extend the show’s reach beyond its reality TV base. Dominic Monaghan from Lost and Lord of the Rings rounds out the headl draws.
