Aerosmith released what will reportedly be the rock last full-length, Music from Another Dimension!, back in 2012, but only last fall did a new EP from the band emerge. The rockers teamed up with alternative superstar Yungblud for a short collection titled One More Time, which brought the outfit back to the top 10 on the Billboard 200 and helped the outfit extend its run into another decade.
These days, Aerosmith regularly lives on the Billboard charts with one compilation, as is the case with so many other acts that found fame decades ago. This frame, Aerosmith’s fan favorite brings the troupe to a longevity milestone the musicians have never seen before.
Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits Reaches 150 Weeks on the Billboard 200
Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits dips two spaces to No. 171 on the Billboard 200, the ranking of the most popular albums in the United States. The tally is built using sales and streaming activity and does not focus on project length, language or genre.
Luminate reports that Aerosmith’s hits set moved just under 9,900 equivalent copies in the most recent tracking frame. That figure helps the collection remain on the roster and celebrate 150 weeks as one of the 200 most popular titles in the nation.
Greatest Hits Is Aerosmith’s Longest-Charting Album
Greatest Hits is the first title by Aerosmith to make it to 150 weeks on the Billboard 200, but it is not the band’s first triple-digit-week-charter. Toys in the Attic managed 128 weeks on the list, while Pump held on for 110 frames, and both performed significantly better in terms of peak position than the compilation.
The fact that Greatest Hits ranks as Aerosmith’s longest-charting success isn’t shocking. That happens with many groups, as streams of a band’s most popular singles can keep one album on various Billboard rankings for years at a time.
Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits Barely Cracked the Top 40
What is somewhat surprising is that, despite the fact that it is Aerosmith’s sturdiest win on the Billboard 200, the singles collection is far from one of the group’s highest-rising. The compilation peaked at No. 36, where it debuted back in September 2023. Out of 32 appearances on the Billboard 200, 10 projects by Aerosmith have broken into the top 10, and the rock outfit has dominated twice.
Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits Climbs on Two Rock Charts
Greatest Hits ascends on the only other two tallies where it can currently be found in America. The full-length returns to the top 10 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart by pushing one spot north and settling in tenth place.
On the Top Rock & Alternative Albums tally, the compilation also improves by just one spot, coming in at No. 44. Greatest Hits has already broken into the top 10 on both rundowns before and is only a few frames ahead of its stretch on the Billboard 200 in terms of time spent on either list.
Aerosmith’s “Dream On” Returns as a Streaming Smash
Aerosmith claims one hit in America this week. “Dream On” returns to the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart at No. 24, landing in second-to-last place. The classic has previously conquered the list of the most-played hard rock tunes in the nation and will likely celebrate 300 weeks as one of the most popular hits in that style relatively soon.
