Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times” reaches 52 weeks on the Official Singles chart, becoming his third song to spend at least a year on the ranking. Harry Styles has spent much of 2026 focused on his album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. The project dropped in early March, and by that point he had already shared lead single “Aperture.” “American Girls” was selected as the second official cut and promoted the day the full-length became available to the public. Months later, “Dance No More” was quietly chosen as the third promotional tune, but it did not reach the same heights as its predecessors.
Styles is busy on his Together, Together Tour, which began in May. At first, the Grammy winner was only headed to a handful of cities, but due to incredible demand and sellout shows, he essentially doubled the run. In 2027, he’ll pick back up and venture to a number of other locales, and the whole trek is expected to include at least 107 dates – if he doesn’t extend it again.
While Styles is squarely focused on Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally and the set’s singles, his first solo tune seems to be his sturdiest smash in 2026. This frame, the song reaches a very special milestone, one which not many tracks will ever celebrate.
“Sign of the Times” Reaches One Year on the Singles Chart
As of this frame, “Sign of the Times” has spent 52 weeks – exactly one year – on the Official Singles chart, the ranking of the 100 most popular songs in the United Kingdom. That stretch has not been consecutive, however.
“Sign of the Times” debuted at No. 1 back in April 2017 and spent well over a dozen frames on the roster that year. The track disappeared in late 2017, only to return for another month or so of success in 2018.
After it was featured in the blockbuster film Project Hail Mary, which was released earlier this year, “Sign of the Times” became a hit all over the world again and rose to new peaks on charts in several nations. In the U.K., the longtime favorite reentered the Official Singles tally in April 2026 and has not disappeared since.

In fact, the Styles cut has largely been on the rise. This frame, “Sign of the Times” ascends from No. 21 to No. 19, reaching its loftiest position since June 2017.
“Sign of the Times” Is Harry Styles’ Third Year-Long-Charter
“Sign of the Times” is Styles’ third cut to make it to a full year on the Official Singles chart. “As It Was” more than doubled that sum, with 106 frames – a little over two years – on the roster in total. 10 of those stints were spent at No. 1.
“Watermelon Sugar” also enjoyed an impressive run on the same roster. The smash peaked at No. 4, but managed to hold on for 88 weeks.
“Sign of the Times” Climbs on the Official Streaming Chart
“Sign of the Times” appears on four U.K. rankings this week, and it rises on only one of them. The cut pushes from No. 52 to No. 47 on the Official Streaming chart, where it has now spent 48 frames and previously climbed as high as fourth place.
The song also appears on the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, though it declines on both. “Sign of the Times” passed a full year as a bestseller on each of those purchase-focused lists months ago, and it will likely reach the same milestone on the streaming-only tally before long.
Harry Styles Claims Two Hits in His Home Country
Styles only has two hits going in the U.K. at the moment, and “Sign of the Times” is easily the bigger of the pair. “American Girls” appears on half as many rosters as the singer’s first release on his own, and it declines on both of them. “Sign of the Times” slips to No. 78 on the Official Singles chart and No. 61 on the Official Streaming tally. The former No. 1 has now spent a little over half a year as both a general hit and one of the most-streamed songs in the nation.
