AEW Dynamite, AEW Collision May 6
All Elite Wrestling
After a Double or Nothing pay-per-view that some called one of the best in company history, AEW Dynamite returned on Wednesday, May 27, to follow up on what happened in Queens, New York.
The ensuing events can be just as important as how a pay-per-view closes. It’s how interest and momentum are sustained, and AEW had that task ahead of it in Philadelphia.
Kevin Knight had questions to answer after his attack on Darby Allin to close Double or Nothing. Would he explain his actions? And whether or not he did, who would step up to come to Allin’s aid?
MJF also entered Dynamite as the new three-time AEW World Champion. Who would step up as his next challenger?
That, and more, including additional Owen Hart Foundation Tournament matches, went down on Dynamite. Let’s look at what happened:
AEW Dynamite Results For May 27
- Will Ospreay spoke about how thrilled he was to win before meeting up with Kenny Omega backstage in the medical room. Omega said Ospreay can’t trust the Death Riders and that he would do anything to help him become champion. Ospreay questioned why Omega can’t be around every week, and Omega said he has his own way of going about things physically, emotionally and mentally. He said neither of them is who they used to be. Omega then warned Ospreay to be careful as Jon Moxley approached them and said they all have their own skeletons.
- As fans chanted expletives at him, Kevin Knight demanded respect while he was speaking. He said he told Darby Allin not to let everyone down, but Allin did anyway, comparing it to the Sixers losing to the Knicks. Knight said he was the last one to humble MJF and that he should have been in the Double or Nothing main event. Knight said he’s here to take over AEW.
- Mike Bailey came out and said the reason he and Knight work so well together is because they both want to be the best. He said Knight attacking Allin was a mistake, but it could be fixed with an apology. As Bailey extended his hand, Knight avoided it and attacked him.
- Backstage, Ricochet said he wasn’t concerned about Chris Jericho ahead of their rematch. He said Jericho wouldn’t have anyone to defend him since everyone was banned from ringside.

- MJF said Darby Allin is hanging his head in shame after losing to a headlock takeover. He said only eight men have been three-time world champions by 30 years old, and everyone will be talking about him until the end of time. MJF said he’s the best wrestler in the world and no one is close to him. He said everyone needs to bow down to him before Mark Briscoe interrupted.
- Briscoe said MJF doesn’t fit in Philadelphia, comparing him to a penguin wandering through a desert. He said some of the toughest people are from Philadelphia, and MJF sticks out because he’s not tough. Briscoe said it wasn’t long ago that he pinned MJF, so he wants a shot at the AEW World Championship. MJF said no because AEW is a business, not a sport, and giving Briscoe a title match would be bad for business.
- Rush interrupted and said it’s funny that MJF is a chickens**t. He said he wants a match for the title. MJF said he agreed that Rush had earned a title shot. He then fooled Rush into thinking he would get a title match, only to make it a non-title match for next week.

David Finlay and Clark Connors then brutally attacked them. Connors said their next pose will be as AEW Tag Team Champions.
- Backstage, Prince Nana said everyone saw what Swerve Strickland did to Bandido at Double or Nothing. He said Strickland is taking the Owen and the All In main event.
