Lawyers for embattled manosphere stars Andrew and Tristan Tate are claiming the brothers’ flaunting of supercars, luxury yachts and expensive watches on social media shouldn’t be taken as evidence of their wealth because the pair, who describe themselves as hypermasculine misogynists, have been lying about their financial status to look rich and sell an online persona.

British news outlets on Tuesday reported on new court filings in which the Tate brothers’ attorneys say they often lied online to portray themselves as influential and “uberwealthy,” including in posts in which Andrew Tate implied his tweets generate nine-figure sums and past claims that he will one day be U.K. prime minister.
The lawyers said their claims of unlimited crypto and cash resources were untrue, and that luxury items central to their brands—like a $7 million customized Bugatti, $2.1 million Aston Martin and several bespoke watches—were rented and not owned by either brother.
The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, a famously customized car Andrew Tate often used to clap back at critics by asking “What color is your Bugatti?,” was actually rented or corporate-leased, rather than personally owned by him, his attorneys revealed.
The attorneys also said that online posts about the valuation of Andrew Tate’s watch collection are speculation and not at all proof that he actually owns pieces he’s been seen flaunting, like a $1 million rose gold Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon, 18k rose gold Royal Oak Offshore from Audemars Piguet and iced-out custom Patek Philippe Nautilus.
The filings claim Andrew and Tristan Tate needed to portray such a level of wealth to promote their “businesses ‘teaching’ men how to earn money,” which included a course called Hustlers University at a cost of $49.99/month and a class teaching offshore tax structuring and asset management that cost $5,000 to join.

“The outrageousness of the posts by them and about them is the point,” the lawyers said in court filings. “The more hyperbolic and outlandish the post, the more likely it will generate views and likes, which in turn generates income. In short, they are playing a role.”
WHAT LUXURIES DID THE TATE BROTHERS FLAUNT?
Their garage purported to feature dozens of high-performance vehicles, including the infamous 1-of-60 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, an Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, an Aston Martin Valhalla, a customized Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge and a fleet of Ferraris and McLarens. They routinely posted content from aboard luxury Mediterranean charter boats, but one specific yacht generated the most attention: the $50 million Obsidian Blade superyacht complete with two sun decks and a plunge pool. They also regularly showed off millions of dollars in watches from brands like Jacob & Co., Richard Mille, Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe.

The Tate brothers have created a massive online brand by branding themselves as misogynistic, rich, hypermasculine influencers who can teach young men how to build wealth, achieve success and attract women. They’ve been banned from major platforms like YouTube, TikTok and Instagram for violating hate speech rules, but Andrew Tate still boasts more than 10 million followers on X. The pair face serious criminal and civil cases across Romania, the United Kingdom and the United States and have been in federal custody since they were arrested by U.S. Marshals in Miami in July. They’re being held pending extradition back to the U.K., where they face almost 60 charges spanning years. The alleged offences include rape, sexual assault, human trafficking, bodily harm, controlling prostitution and offenses related to extreme pornography, all of which they’ve denied. Andrew Tate on Monday said he would fight extradition, posting on X, “My life is a movie and I’m my own stuntman.” Separately, Andrew Tate is being sued in England by four women over allegations of sexual violence and the brothers are also facing legal proceedings in Romania of human trafficking, rape and other charges.

Andrew and Tristan Tate are being held at the Federal Detention Center in Miami and Andrew Tate’s X account has made daily complaints about the allegedly harsh conditions he’s facing in solitary confinement. He’s claimed he gets “no commissary, no phone calls, no yard time” and said he’s facing the “worst possible conditions the US gov provides to terrorists and psychopaths.” But prosecutors have said he is exaggerating the conditions of his imprisonment and that the Tate brothers are living a normal life that includes recreation time, the opportunity for visitors, access to phone calls and the opportunity to visit with their attorneys, “often twice a day.” Prosecutors also shared receipts of the brothers’ commissary orders, dated Aug. 5, which show they’ve each purchased more than a dozen items including Doritos, ramen noodles, coffee, candy and deodorant.
