Ariana Grande claims the two biggest songs in the world this week. Every track featured on her new album, Petal, debuts on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., but it is only on the former where she occupies the highest pair of spaces.
Grande almost scores another No. 1 smash – one which would have helped her move up on the ranking of the artists with the most leaders. Instead, “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” the first single from Petal, finds its way back to the summit. In doing so, the Grammy winner actually prevents herself from collecting an important new leader, at least for the time being.
Ariana Grande Returns to No. 1
On this week’s Billboard Global 200, “Hate That I Made You Love Me” rises from No. 3 to No. 1. The single surges in the wake of the release of Petal, one of the most highly-anticipated albums of 2026. “Hate That I Made You Love Me” reappears at the peak of the tally months after it first conquered the worldwide chart.
Ariana Grande Blocks Herself From a New Champion
As “Hate That I Made You Love Me” reconquers the Billboard Global 200, Grande’s “Petal,” the title track and latest promotional cut from the album of the same name, debuts at No. 2. Grande blocks herself from collecting another instant ruler on the worldwide list.
Ariana Grande Has Charted Five Global No. 1s
Grande has scored five No. 1 hits on the Billboard Global 200. She has led the charge with “Positions,” “Save Your Tears” with The Weeknd, “Yes, And?,” “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” and “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” which debuted in the top spot back in June.
With five champions to her credit, Grande is tied for the third-most leaders of all time. She sits alongside Bad Bunny and Olivia Rodrigo, who also added to her career total earlier this year.

Taylor Swift sits two smashes ahead of that group, while BTS claims the most No. 1s ever with eight rulers so far. Had “Petal” and “Hate That I Made You Love Me” traded places, Grande would have broken her tie with Bad Bunny and Rodrigo and stood alone in third place instead of sharing that honor.
Ariana Grande Scores Another No. 2-Peaking Hit
“Petal” is now one of three Grande tracks to peak at No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200. “34+35” and “Die for You,” another collaboration with The Weeknd, also stalled in the runner-up position.
Ariana Grande Nearly Rules Both Global Rankings
Grande does not lead the way on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., which uses worldwide streaming and sales activity like the Billboard Global 200 but removes consumption from the United States.
“Hate That I Made You Love Me” surges back to No. 2, stopping short of running the show again as Shakira and Burna Boy hold at No. 1 with “Dai Dai.” That also leaves “Petal” to debut at No. 3 instead of No. 2, as it does on the Billboard Global 200.
Ariana Grande Scores Four New Global Top 10s
“Petal” is one of four new top 10 hits for Grande on the Billboard Global 200. “Kiss Me,” “Stay” and “Oh Well” launch at Nos. 5, 7 and 8, respectively. The Grammy winner is now up to 13 career top 10s on the worldwide roster.
Of that group of new arrivals, only “Kiss Me” joins “Petal” inside the highest tier of the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The album cut begins its run at No. 10, while “Petal” starts at No. 3. Grande has now accumulated 11 career appearances between Nos. 1 and 10 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., breaking into double-digit territory as both “Petal” and “Kiss Me” launch.
