Country has been a homegrown American art form for decades, one which has been exported around the world, and 2026 has been a huge year for acts in the field making it big in other nations.
It is extremely rare for any piece of country music to hit the top 10 on the Official Singles chart in the United Kingdom – the list of the most popular tunes of any style – and a No. 1 is significantly rarer. That extremely uncommon feat has been accomplished once more by what will surely go down as the signature smash of 2026.
Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” Hits No. 1
Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” rises to No. 1 on the Official Singles chart this week, stepping up from third place. At the same time, the track also conquers both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads rankings. “Choosin’ Texas” reaches No. 1 for the first time on three of the four U.K. tallies where it appears at the moment.
Ella Langley Scores Her First No. 1s in the U.K.
“Choosin’ Texas” has ranked as Langley’s biggest hit on all three of those rosters for some time, and now it becomes her first No. 1 on the trio at once. The only ranking where the smash does not rule in the U.K. is the Official Streaming chart, which looks specifically at the most-played cuts of any genre on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and others. On that list, “Choosin’ Texas” holds at its previously-established all-time high of No. 4.
Two Ella Langley Hits Reach New Peaks
Two of Langley’s three hits present on the Official Singles chart this week rise to new highs. As “Choosin’ Texas” takes over the roster, “Weren’t for the Wind” advances as well, flying two spaces to No. 78. That marks a new peak for the years-old cut, which has become popular around the planet in the wake of “Choosin’ Texas.”
The Official Charts Company, akin to the U.K.’s Billboard, only allows each act to fill three spaces on the Official Singles chart at one time as a lead artist. Langley manages that maximum showing again as “Choosin’ Texas” and “Weren’t for the Wind” climb to new peak positions. “Be Her” also ascends, advancing from No. 33 to No. 30 – nearing its No. 28 high point.
Ella Langley Lands Two Additional Comebacks
Two additional Langley songs return to U.K. rankings this week, becoming bestsellers again. “You Look Like You Love Me” with Riley Green reenters both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales charts at Nos. 80 and 93, respectively. The collaboration has performed considerably better on the two lists in the past, as it was once a top 40 smash.
“Jaded,” Langley’s recently-shared collaboration with fellow country artist Koe Wetzel, also becomes a bestseller again in the U.K. The track reenters the Official Singles Sales chart at No. 96 while simultaneously climbing 13 spaces to No. 83 on the Official Singles Downloads rundown.
