FC Barcelona Star Gavi Makes Enormous And Heartwarming Contribution

FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi has made a huge donation in his hometown of Los Palacios y Villafranca, as he explained on social media.

FC Barcelona number 6 Gavi has made a huge and heartwarmning donation in his hometown of Los Palacios y Villafranca, as explained by SPORT.

Despite his undoubted technical ability, the boisterous midfielder is known for his aggressive play in the centre of the park which often draws the ire of fans of rival clubs.

The Andalusian clearly has a big heart, though. As SPORT relays, he’s decided to invest $1.5 million (€1.3 million) of his own money into a project to provide 150 homes for homeless people in Los Palacios.

This isn’t an investment to spin a profit, however. It’s to help the people in his pueblo, or hometown, which is also shared by fellow World Cup winner with Spain and Paris Saint-Germain star Fabian Ruiz.

“I’ve seen too many people struggle to survive during the cold winter nights without a safe roof over their heads. I’ve always believed that I have a responsibility to act when I have the opportunity to make a difference,” Gavi said.

The scheme will help around 300 people in total, in a place that the 22-year-old has never forgotten despite becoming a starting player at one of the biggest clubs on the face of the planet.

He spent the first 11 years of his life in Los Palacios before famously telling his parents that he wanted to move all the way across the country alone to board in La Masia.

The Catalans spotted Gavi playing at a tournament for Real Betis, where his mother Gema worked in the laundry department.

Given his kind gesture, however, Gavi was clearly raised right. News of it has seen him widely praised on social media, on the eve of his sixth season in the first team.
