Foo Fighters’ “Window” rises into the top 10 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, giving the band its thirty-sixth top 10 and tying Shinedown for the most top 10s ever. Rock band Foo Fighters returned this spring with a highly-anticipated new album, Your Favorite Toy, its first proper studio LP in several years. The Dave Grohl-fronted outfit saw its latest full-length underperform, especially when compared to how massively successful several other projects from the Grammy-winning act have turned out to be throughout the years.
Your Favorite Toy was not a massive commercial win as an album, though multiple singles from the project have performed well on various Billboard charts, especially when looking at rock radio rankings. Foo Fighters claim another top 10 on a tally that the band regularly revisits whenever a new single is being promoted, and as “Window” establishes a new peak, the group makes history.
Foo Fighters Return to the Top 10 on a Radio Chart
“Window” surges two spaces on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart this week. The single advances from No. 12 to No. 10, giving Foo Fighters another top 10 smash on the ranking.
The Mainstream Rock Airplay chart measures the most-played songs at mainstream rock radio stations throughout the United States. Foo Fighters have maintained a regular presence on the roster for decades, and “Window” adds another very special win to the band’s already-historic total.
Foo Fighters Tie Shinedown for the Most Top 10 Hits
Foo Fighters have now racked up 36 top 10 hits on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. As “Window” ascends into the uppermost tier, the band ties Shinedown for the most appearances between Nos. 1 and 10 in the history of the roster.
Shinedown Extends Its No. 1 Record
While Shinedown may now have to share one bit of Mainstream Rock Airplay history with Foo Fighters, the group pushes ahead in another category. Shinedown rules the chart this week as “Young Again” climbs one space to No. 1, becoming the outfit’s twenty-fourth leader.
Shinedown already claims the most No. 1s in the history of the ranking, and its latest champion extends that reign. The group now leads its closest competitor, Three Days Grace, by a trio of rulers.
Foo Fighters’ “Window” Nears the Top 10 on Another List
“Window” approaches the top 10 on the Alternative Airplay chart, but doesn’t quite make it into that space. The single improves two spaces to No. 12 this frame and could very well break into the highest tier in the coming weeks.
The track can also be found on another three Billboard rankings. “Window” sits at No. 9 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, No. 11 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs tally and No. 36 on the Adult Alternative Airplay roster.
Foo Fighters’ “Everlong” Remains a No. 1 Smash
Your Favorite Toy is missing from the Billboard rankings, but “Window” is not the only piece of Foo Fighters music that charts. “Everlong,” perhaps the group’s most famous tune and certainly one of its sturdiest, can be located on four rosters, which is not an unusual showing for the composition.
That roundup includes the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, where “Everlong” is steady at No. 1. The classic has now spent 307 weeks as one of the most-streamed hard rock tunes in the U.S., and an incredible 115 of those frames have been at the summit.
