In a few days, Madonna’s latest album Confessions II will begin debuting on charts all around the world. Whenever the pop icon delivers another full-length, it is bound to become a strong seller and perhaps another No. 1 on lists in a number of nations. Confessions II seems to be headed for a lofty start in most countries, including in the United Kingdom, where she remains one of the most successful musical acts of all time.
Just one frame before Confessions II debuts, the album that it spiritually follows – the two-decade-old Confessions on a Dance Floor – returns to multiple tallies in that European nation, and it nearly finds its way back to No. 1.
Madonna Misses Returning to No. 1 by One Space
Confessions on a Dance Floor reenters two lists in the U.K. this week. The Grammy-winning set blasts back onto the Official Album Downloads roster at No. 38. Madonna nearly pushes back to the summit on the Official Dance Albums chart, but misses out on doing so by only one spot. Confessions on a Dance Floor reenters the genre-focused rundown at No. 2. Inferno, the latest full-length by Boards of Canada, jumps from second place to No. 1 a month into its time on the tally.
Confessions on a Dance Floor Returns to Multiple Charts
Confessions on a Dance Floor last appeared on the Official Album Downloads chart in late April, when it reappeared at No. 69. The last time that the first Confessions sat in a loftier position than it does now on the list of the most-downloaded full-lengths and EPs in the U.K. was last November, when it reached its all-time peak of No. 2.
Confessions on a Dance Floor has only been missing from the Official Dance Albums chart for less than a month. It has not occupied one of the highest two spaces since, again, November 2025, when Confessions on a Dance Floor earned its fourteenth nonconsecutive spin at No. 1. Madonna sent the electronic dance collection to that highest space for the first time back in November 2005, when it was brand new.
Madonna Debuts “Read My Lips” with Reid
Four songs from Confessions II were released before the album became available in full, and impressively, each and every one of them appears on multiple charts in the U.K. this week. Perhaps most excitingly, “Read My Lips,” Madonna’s collaboration with Latin superstar Feid, debuts as a bestseller only days before Confessions II arrives. “Read My Lips” opens at No. 23 on the Official Singles Downloads tally and No. 32 on the Official Singles Sales rundown.
“I Feel So Free” and “Love Sensation” Return
Two additional Confessions II smashes also rebound and hit the same rankings where “Read My Lips” debuts. “I Feel So Free,” the first taste of the Confessions on a Dance Floor sequel, lands at No. 42 on the Official Singles Downloads chart and No. 52 on the Official Singles Sales list.
“Love Sensation,” which preceded “Read My Lips” by only a few weeks, reappears on the same pair of rosters, though it trails “I Feel So Free.” “Love Sensation” is back on the downloads ranking at No. 53, and it settles 10 spaces lower, at No. 63, on the Official Singles Sales chart.
“Bring Your Love” Lives on Multiple Charts in the U.K.
Perhaps the biggest hit from Confessions II, “Bring Your Love” – which benefited immensely from a feature by pop superstar Sabrina Carpenter – can be found on the same lists as “Read My Lips,” “I Feel So Free” and “Love Sensation,” but unlike those tracks, it neither debuts nor returns. A month into its time as a bestseller, “Bring Your Love” manages to hold inside the top 40, dropping from No. 17 to No. 35 on the Official Singles Downloads chart. Meanwhile, on the general sales ranking, “Bring Your Love” descends even more dramatically, slipping from No. 19 to No. 44. In the past, the catchy duet has topped out at No. 4 on both rosters.
