Miley Cyrus did her best to hype the world for her 2025 album Something Beautiful, and while expectations and anticipation were extremely high, the project ended up underperforming. Something Beautiful followed Endless Summer Vacation by a little more than two years, but it failed to produce a smash in the way that its predecessor had. Endless Summer Vacation was powered by “Flowers,” which will likely be regarded as Cyrus’s biggest hit.
After Something Beautiful failed to gain much traction and disappeared fairly quickly, Cyrus left Columbia Records, signed a new deal and quickly got to work. Recently, the superstar shocked the world by announcing yet another new album, Bass Persuades. The singer only revealed the project’s existence a few days ago, and it is scheduled to drop later this week.
The singer-songwriter has shared just one single from the project, the title track, and the cut becomes a quick bestseller in the United Kingdom this time around.
Miley Cyrus Scores New Top 10 Hits in the U.K.
“Bass Persuades” debuts on three U.K. charts this week, and it begins its time on the rankings inside the top 10 on all but one of them. The single launches at Nos. 4, 7 and 31 on the Official Singles Downloads, Official Singles Sales and Official Singles charts, respectively.
Cyrus is now up to an even dozen top 10s on the Official Singles Sales chart, which lists the top-selling cuts of any style and via any format in the country. That includes digital downloads as well as purchases on CD, cassette and vinyl, all of which have become popular again in the past few years.
On the Official Singles Downloads tally, “Bass Persuades” marks the Grammy winner’s seventeenth appearance between Nos. 1 and 10.
“Bass Persuades” Matches Another Miley Cyrus Smash
On the Official Singles Sales list, “Bass Persuades” ties as one of Cyrus’s eighth-highest-charting smashes. It happens to match “Younger You,” her most recent hit, which launched on the roster only a few months ago and was tied to the Hannah Montana twentieth-anniversary TV special.

“Bass Persuades” kicks off its time in a loftier position on the Official Singles Downloads chart than on the Official Singles Sales tally. That is not surprising, considering the latter incorporates purchases across multiple formats and is therefore more all-encompassing.
As “Bass Persuades” opens at No. 4 on the downloads-specific ranking, it matches “Prisoner,” Cyrus’s team-up with Dua Lipa, which similarly peaked in that position. Cyrus has collected seven No. 1s on the tally, while “Feelin’ Myself,” her collaboration with will.i.am and Wiz Khalifa, stalled in the runner-up rung.
“Bass Persuades” Misses the Streaming Chart Entirely
“Bass Persuades” is clearly a bestseller in the U.K., but it does not appear to have overperformed when it comes to streaming platforms. The track completely misses the Official Streaming chart and launches considerably lower on the Official Singles tally at No. 31.
The Official Singles chart ranks the most popular cuts of any genre in the U.K. and blends both purchases and streams. The fact that “Bass Persuades” kicks off its run in lofty positions on two purchase-focused lists but completely misses the streaming roster paints a fairly clear picture of how fans consumed the track during its first tracking period.
“Bass Persuades” does earn Cyrus her first top 40 win on the main songs roster in a little more than a year. “End of the World,” the lead single from Something Beautiful, peaked at No. 23. A year earlier, “II Most Wanted,” Cyrus’s Grammy-winning cut with Beyoncé, galloped all the way to No. 9.
Miley Cyrus Scores Another U.K. Comeback
At the same time that “Bass Persuades” debuts, Cyrus’s other 2026 hit returns. “Younger You” reenters the Official Physical Singles chart at No. 93. The track has now spent four frames on the roster since debuting this spring. “Younger You” has performed considerably better in the past, working its way to a No. 5 peak before slipping away.
