All four members of the K-pop girl group Blackpink have released solo material in 2026. The quartet returned earlier this year with an EP titled Deadline, which included two singles. “Jump” was pushed in the summer of 2025, and when the short collection launched, “Go” was chosen as the second official cut.

In the months since Deadline came and went, Jennie, Jisoo and Lisa have all dropped songs on their own, and Rosé recently joined her bandmates. Her latest tune “New Trick” underperforms on several Billboard charts as it arrives – especially when compared to her career-high smash “Apt.,” the Bruno Mars collaboration that is about to turn two years old – just when it seemed like Rosé’s star was shining brightest.

Rosé’s “New Trick” Misses the Billboard Hot 100

Somewhat surprisingly, “New Trick” completely misses the Billboard Hot 100, the list of the 100 most-consumed songs in the United States. The tally blends airplay, sales and streaming data to show what Americans are listening to, and Rosé’s latest doesn’t make the cut this time around.

“New Trick” does land on a companion roster, though not one many artists favor. The song becomes her lowest-peaking track on the Bubbling Under Hot 100, a 25-spot extension for cuts that have yet to reach the main Billboard Hot 100. The single opens at No. 10, giving Rosé her third win on the roster. “Number One Girl” spent one frame at No. 1, while “Messy” peaked at No. 9 last May.

“New Trick” Brings Rosé to a New Low on the Sales Chart

“New Trick” also brings Rosé to a new solo career low on the Digital Song Sales chart, where it becomes her fourth track to stand out as an American bestseller. The cut barely makes the tally, landing at No. 25 — last place on the list of the top-selling tracks of any style in the U.S.

Luminate reports that “New Trick” did not sell even 1,000 copies in its first seven days of availability, though it came close to that figure. “Apt.,” Rosé’s collaboration with Mars, eventually reached No. 1 in January 2025 after launching several months earlier. “On the Ground” earned the singer her first top 10 when it debuted at No. 10 in March 2021, while “Gone” missed the highest tier by only a few spaces, as it opened and peaked at No. 15 at the same time as “On the Ground.”

“New Trick” Starts Low on Both Global Rosters

“New Trick” also fails to launch within the highest half of either of Billboard’s two worldwide rankings. The Billboard Global 200 measures streaming and sales activity from around the planet, while the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. uses a similar methodology, but removes activity from the U.S.

Rosé scores her lucky thirteenth hit on both rosters as “New Trick” opens at Nos. 118 and 179 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and Billboard Global 200, respectively.

Of her 13 solo hits on the two worldwide tallies, “New Trick” is her second-lowest-peaking on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Only “Stay a Little Longer,” which launched at No. 125 and then disappeared, stalled in a less impressive position. On the Billboard Global 200, two cuts have peaked farther down: “Two Years” and “Stay a Little Longer.” Both lasted for just one turn on the ranking, settling in at Nos. 183 and 198, respectively.

“Apt.” Recently Hit 100 Weeks on the Two Global Charts

“Apt.” is still present on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Only last week, the Mars collaboration celebrated 100 weeks on the two tallies, a first for Rosé.

The career-defining smash significantly outperforms “New Trick” on both lists this week. “Apt.” holds at No. 73 on the Billboard Global 200 and improves to No. 52 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S.

“New Trick” Launches as a Top 40 Smash on Multiple Lists

There is some good news for “New Trick,” as the tune enters as a top 40 hit on three additional Billboard rankings. The solo tune debuts at Nos. 24, 26 and 36 on the Hot Alternative Songs, Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Pop Airplay charts, respectively.
