It has been more than 30 years since Shania Twain released her self-titled debut album, and the country icon is still at it. After a 15-year break between Up! and Now, she has been working fairly consistently for nearly a decade, delivering a new project every few years. Little Miss Twain arrived last month, more than three years after Queen of Me.
That set launches on multiple Billboard charts this week, but it does not perform nearly as well as Twain’s past full-lengths. In fact, Little Miss Twain brings the singer-songwriter to a new low on the most important albums ranking when looking specifically at her seven studio LPs.
Shania Twain Debuts Her New Album Very Low
Little Miss Twain manages an unremarkable start on the Billboard 200. The collection opens at No. 131 on the ranking, which measures the most-consumed albums in the United States using a combination of sales and streams.
Luminate reports that during its first tracking period of availability, Twain’s latest moved 11,600 equivalent units between purchases and streaming. Most of those copies were actual sales from diehard supporters of the country musician.
Shania Twain Scores Her Lowest-Charting Studio Album
Of Twain’s seven proper studio albums, Little Miss Twain is by far the lowest-peaking on the Billboard 200. Her self-titled debut missed the roster entirely, but every other studio project since has spent time inside the top 10. Two of those collections, Up! and Now, reached No. 1. Even Queen of Me, which arrived in 2023, broke into the highest tier and peaked at No. 10.
Shania Twain Matches Another Low-Peaking Set
When other projects like compilations, live recordings and alternate releases are also taken into consideration, Little Miss Twain ties as Twain’s second-lowest-peaking title on the Billboard 200. It matches Not Just a Girl: The Highlights, a soundtrack that debuted and peaked at No. 131 in September 2022 and spent just one frame on the tally. Up! (Country Mixes), a reworked take on the songs featured on Up!, launched at No. 190 back in 2002.
Shania Twain Reaches the Sales Chart’s Top 10
Little Miss Twain does manage a top 10 opening on one of the four Billboard rankings where it appears. The album debuts at No. 6 on the Top Album Sales chart, giving Twain her seventh career placement on the roster. The release sold just under 10,500 copies across digital downloads, CDs and vinyl.
Shania Twain Doubles Her Vinyl Chart Hits
Twain also doubles her number of appearances on the Vinyl Albums ranking, which focuses exclusively on purchases on that format. Queen of Me almost became her first No. 1 on the tally when it debuted at No. 2 in February 2023. Little Miss Twain does not perform quite as well, missing the top 10 by three spaces as it starts at No. 13.
Shania Twain’s Latest Starts Low on the Country Ranking
Little Miss Twain also underperforms on the Top Country Albums chart, which is compiled similarly to the Billboard 200 but focuses only on country releases. Twain’s latest kicks off its run at No. 26.

The superstar has now landed a dozen projects on the roster, and only two have peaked in lower rungs. The Complete Limelight Sessions climbed to No. 43, while Shania Twain stalled at No. 67 — a position that no longer even exists on the now-50-space tally.
