Wanna One Reunites For The KCON LA Stage After Nine Years

KCON LA 2026 marks the return of the K-pop group Wanna One, since they last appeared on the KCON stage in 2017. The group, formed temporarily from the hit South Korean reality competition series Produce 101 (Season 2), debuted in 2017 and disbanded in 2019. Nine of the members – Park Ji-hoon, Lee Daehwi, Kim Jae-hwan, Ong Seong-wu, Park Woo-jin, Yoon Ji-sung, Hwang Min-hyun, Bae Jin-young, and Ha Sung-woon – reunited for a special reality variety series this past April, Wanna One Go: Back to Base. Kang Daniel is currently enlisted in South Korea’s mandatory military service. Lai Kuan-lin is no longer an artist; currently, working as a film director in China.

The group reunites for KCON LA’s special stage during the M Countdown concert on Friday, August 14. This return is set to be emotional, especially since so many members have been busy with their own successful careers. Park Ji-hoon has been busy with his solo singing and acting career, recently appearing in CJ ENM’s The Legend of Kitchen Soldier. Kim Lee Daehwi, a member of AB6IX, has been working in music as an artist, producer, and writer, and as an active host on M Countdown. Jae-hwan has worked on his music and is currently the host of the original-music podcast Su-seok (秀石) Research Society on Stone Music. Ong Seong-wu has remained a heartthrob, appearing in several films and television series. He’s set to star in the K-drama Ossakhan Yeonae, out July 18. Park Woo-jin, a member of AB6IX, has been busy with his music career and recently signed with Para Music for his future endeavors. Yoon Ji-sung has been working as a singer and actor, appearing in popular shows, and is set to appear in the South Korean musical Portrait of a Boy. Hwang Min-hyun has been busy with his solo music and acting career. He starred in the Netflix series, Study Group. He is currently doing a tour in Asia. Bae Jin-young, a former member of CIX, and Ha Sung-woon have been busy with their solo music careers.

With all their success, it’s so exciting to know the group reunited to perform together at the same venue where they performed nine years ago. They join H//PE Princess; PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SHINSEKAI winners K01KEYZ; KickFlip; SANTOS BRAVOS; TREASURE; and &TEAM, with NCT 127 as the headliners.

KCON LA will also feature special guests, Korean actors Lee Jun Hyuk (Stranger, The Art of Sarah), PARK EUN BIN (Extraordinary Attorney Woo), and Sangheon Lee (XO, Kitty). They will make special appearances at the convention and on M Countdown. Now with WANNA ONE members including some popular K-drama actors, who knows if they will pop up too?

KCON LA will be from August 14 to August 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. M Countdown takes place at the Crypto.com Arena.
