After several weeks off following the FedEx Cup Playoffs culminated at East Lake with the Tour Championship, the PGA Tour continues with their fall slate of tournaments. And what a better way to continue than with the unique Bank of Utah Championship.
This tournament is one of the younger tournaments in the PGA Tour rotation, and it’s just the third time the tour has made a stop in Utah. For some of these players, they are still riding the wake of the Presidents Cup last weekend, while others have motives like trying to keep their Tour Card.

When it comes to picks for this event, I’d start with my favorite and long shot picks. The favorite pick is the winner pick I like the most. For the long shot winner, that is a golfer who has over +2000 odds to win. It is a long shot pick for a reason, and finding those can be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Long Shot: Nick Taylor (+4500)
When you have a player like Koivun who is riding high after a tremendous performance at the Presidents Cup, it can go one of two ways. The 21 year-old can continue his hot streak, or he can take a big step backwards. I’m banking on Koivun staying hot and winning his second tournament of the season.
Taylor certainly is the definition of a long shot pick, but he showed some serious class in the Presidents Cup, and I think that confidence might have him play at a higher level this weekend.
Top 5 Bets For The Bank of Utah Championship 2026
- Maverick McNealy (+340)
- Matt Wallace (+430)
Maverick McNealy has had an up-and-down season, but he has shown more than enough to prove he could be near the top of the leaderboard when the dust settles on Sunday. With +340 odds in this lesser-than field, I like McNealy to be in the Top 5.
Wallace isn’t considered a top tier talent on tour, but this tournament has been won by players who would fall into that same tier the past two years. Wallace getting +430 to be Top 5 seemed like a good risk vs. reward play.
Top 10 Picks For The Bank of Utah Championship 2026
- Jackson Koivun (+116)
- Rasmus Hojgaard (+345)
Just like the Biltmore Championship two weeks ago, Koivun wasn’t just the odds-on favorite to win, but was still getting plus odds to be in the Top 10. I took Koivun to win outright, but I’m hedging by play with Koivun being in the Top 10.
Hojgaard is a been-there-done-that type golfer, and I think he could surprise some people by finishing in the Top 10 in this particular field.
Top 20 Value Picks For The Bank of Utah Championship 2026
- Max Homa (+156)
- Neal Shipley (+194)
Max Homa was once a big time player on the PGA Tour, but he’s been searching to find his swing the past few years. Homa is hoping to claim victory, even in an event like the Bank of Utah Championship, and I’ll take him to finish in the Top 20 at +156 odds.
Neal Shipley helped us two weeks ago at the Biltmore Championship with a Top 20 play, and I’m going back to that same well to see if he can cash a +194 play in Utah. He’s proven he can accomplish such a feat.
