HBO Max has released a new teaser trailer for the new series Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
The trailer shows Harry Potter (Dominic McLaughlin, Ron Weasley (Alastair Stout) and Hermione Granger (Arabella Stanton) as they arrive at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The official logline from HBO for the series reads, “There is nothing special about Harry Potter – or so his Aunt Petunia tells him. But when a mysterious letter of admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry arrives, it opens the door to a hidden world of magic, friendship and adventure. Yet behind Hogwarts’ enchanted walls lie dark secrets. Harry must find the courage to prove himself against the darkest wizard of all.”
The first teaser trailer for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was released in March and, per HBO, amassed more than 277 million organic views in the first 48 hours of release. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, of course, reflects the U.K. title of the book. The adaptation of the movie in the U.S. was retitled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
What Else Is Featured In The New ‘Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone’ Teaser Trailer?
Also seen in the new teaser for the TV adaptation of author J.K. Rowling’s blockbuster book series is Janet McTeer as Professor Minerva McGonagall as she reads Harry, Ron and Hermione’s names during the Sorting Ceremony. John Lithgow also makes an appearance as Professor Albus Dumbledore.
In addition, Paapa Essiedu’s Professor Severus Snape is seen talking with Harry before a Quidditch match, while Nick Frost’s Rubeus Hagrid tells the young wizard in training that “family is more than just blood.”
Also during the trailer, Harry, Ron and Hermione investigate the secret of the Philosopher’s Stone, which leads to other exciting moments.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone also stars Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom. Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Elijah Oshin as Dean Thomas, Tristan Harland as Fred Weasley, Gabriel Harland as George Weasley and Ruari Spooner as Percy Weasley.

Other cast members for the first season of Harry Potter include Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, Finn Stephens as Vincent Crabbe, William Nash as Gregory Goyle, Warwick Davis as Filius Flitwick and Sirine Saba as Pomona Sprout.
HBO Max previously announced that Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will have a Christmas 2026 release. HBO plans to adapt all seven of Rowling’s Harry Potter novels over seven seasons, with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets already being ordered to series for Season 2.
Rowling’s Harry Potter books, of course, were first adapted as an eight-part movie series starring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry, Ron and Hermione, and ran from 2001 to 2011.
