President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House on Wednesday he is “happy” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the United States to return to the United Kingdom, saying he is “not a fan” and “wouldn’t have taken them back” if he were the royal family.

Trump said he thought Harry and Meghan, who stepped back from their royal duties and moved to California in 2020, “treated the royal family with great disrespect,” saying he thought Meghan was “terribly disrespectful to the queen, to King Charles.”
“If I were the royal family, I would not have taken them back,” Trump said, adding he had a “great” relationship with Queen Elizabeth II, who died in 2022, and King Charles III.
Harry and Meghan returned to the United Kingdom last week, where they are believed to be settling at a private residence outside of London, though they are not expected to return to their royal roles.
