Madonna enjoyed a huge night at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, as the pop icon entered the evening as the most nominated artist and walked away with the most trophies, adding seven new pieces of hardware to her shelf. She opened the show with a medley of “Bring Your Love” featuring Sabrina Carpenter and the Afterhours remix of “Danceteria,” bringing out Charli XCX for the latter.

Madonna ended up winning Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration for “Bring Your Love” with Carpenter, Best Dance, Best Long Form Video, Best Album, Best Cinematography and Best Choreography, though the pop superstar herself did not take home all of those trophies. This week the singer scores not just another No. 1 on a Billboard chart, but a historic leader, as her latest smash vaults to the summit.

Madonna Scores Her Tenth Dance Airplay Chart No. 1

Madonna conquers the Dance Airplay chart this frame with “Danceteria.” Last time around, the latest smash from Confessions II sat in fourth place, and it now gives the superstar a milestone tenth No. 1 on the radio ranking.

Here are all of Madonna’s No. 1s on Billboard’s Dance Airplay chart.

  • “4 Minutes” with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland
  • “Danceteria”
  • “Get Together”
  • “Give It 2 Me”
  • “Hung Up”
  • “I Feel So Free”
  • “Jump”
  • “Love Sensation” with Kylie Minogue
  • “Miles Away”
  • “Sorry”

Madonna Moves Up on the All-Time Ranking

As she cracks double-digit leaders, Madonna moves up on the list of artists who have conquered the Dance Airplay chart most frequently. Before “Danceteria” led the charge, she was matched with Ellie Goulding for the fifth-most champions of all time. Now, Madonna moves past the British singer-songwriter, who dips to sixth on this all-time ranking.

David Guetta remains far ahead of everyone nearly else with 21 No. 1s, while Calvin Harris isn’t far behind with 19. Rihanna claims an even dozen, and the Chainsmokers sit only one leader ahead of Madonna with 11 after adding another ruler earlier this year. Goulding now stands in sixth place with nine No. 1s.

Three Confessions II Singles Have Reached No. 1

Three of the four singles selected from Confessions II have reached No. 1 on the Dance Airplay chart. That track record speaks to Madonna’s popularity with an electronic dance-loving crowd and the willingness of DJs and programmers in the space to continually put whatever she shares into heavy rotation.

The first Confessions II track to lead the charge was “I Feel So Free.” That cut launched on the tally in early May, and by the end of that month, it had earned Madonna another No. 1. Not long afterward, “Love Sensation” – which was originally a solo recording before Kylie Minogue joined the tune – also rose to the highest spot. “Danceteria” now becomes the third from the set, and so far, all three have only led for one frame.

A total of four tracks from Confessions II have appeared on the Dance Airplay ranking, but one very much underperformed when compared to the others. “Bring Your Love,” Madonna’s poppy team-up with Carpenter – which was pushed more toward top 40 audiences than hardcore dance listeners – only spent three frames on the roster. The collaboration opened at No. 36, which turned out to be its all-time peak, before quickly falling away.

“Bring Your Love” is the second-lowest-peaking of Madonna’s 20 hits on the Dance Airplay chart. Only “I Rise,” which stalled one rung lower, failed to soar any higher. As of this frame, exactly half of all the songs Madonna has sent onto the Dance Airplay tally throughout her career have become No. 1s.

“Danceteria” Is Madonna’s Only Current Billboard Hit

At the moment, “Danceteria” ruling the Dance Airplay chart marks Madonna’s only appearance on any Billboard ranking. The other songs — and especially the singles — featured on Confessions II have all vanished, and the full-length is no longer selling or streaming well enough to find space on any roster.

That may change when Billboard refreshes its charts in about a week. Madonna’s high-profile MTV Video Music Awards performance, along with her multiple trips to the stage throughout the evening, could generate a renewed interest in both Confessions II and the songs featured on it.
