A Promising New Update On ‘Crew Girl’ Season 2 On Netflix

New love triangle drama Crew Girl has been climbing the charts on Netflix and has hit No. 1 on the service. Not just in the US, but in 39 different regions around the world. Now, fans who binged the eight-episode series are wondering about season 2.

So, some updates on Crew Girl season 2. No, Netflix has not renewed it yet. That is not unusual, however, given that we’re not even a week out from its premiere. And while it’s doing well, it’s not blowing the doors off viewership of anything like that. Still, it’s promising on a number of fronts.

First, the fact that Crew Girl is now No. 1 in so many regions, especially the US, obviously bodes well for its prospects. It did not debut in that spot, but its move up the list shows interest is growing, not falling over time, which is what Netflix wants to see.

While we don’t know Crew Girl’s exact budget, we can gather that the nature of the show makes it inherently cheap. No big blockbuster effects and no big A-list stars. Crew Girl is the kind of show that makes stars rather than utilizes them in the first place (this will no doubt elevate the profile of star Miku Martineau, for one). The only name I even recognize on this list is Jessica Paré, who played Don Draper’s girlfriend on Mad Men. The point being, it’s a low-cost series, which Netflix loves.

Crew Girl is not based on a book, so there’s no further source material to draw on. However, showrunner Vivan Lin is already talking about further seasons:

“I think it has the potential to go on as long as it wants to,” she told What’s on Netflix, also indicating the series could have spinoffs. “I think there are legs to this. No guarantees though.”

Netflix also wants to get in on the latest trend, sports-based romances, as HBO Max’s Heated Rivalry and Amazon’s Off Campus have both found success with hockey-based series. Netflix also has an ice-skating drama, Finding Her Edge, that was renewed for season 2, with viewership numbers similar to what we’ve seen from Crew Girl.

All of this adds up to the likely answer that Crew Girl will be renewed for season 2. If we are using Finding Her Edge as a template, that show aired on Jan. 22, 2026, and was renewed on Feb. 3, 2026, so it may not be that long of a wait.
