Throughout much of 2026, Ella Langley has claimed the biggest song in America and one of the most popular tunes in the world. “Choosin’ Texas” was released in late 2025, and by the early weeks of this year, the country musician had scored her first leader on the Billboard Hot 100, the ranking of the 100 most popular tunes of any style in the United States.
The fact that “Choosin’ Texas” once again leads that chart is not surprising, even as it ties an all-time record by earning another stay at the summit. What’s particularly notable about Langley’s performance on the Billboard rosters this time around is that she sits on top of the two most competitive and important rankings in America, managing yet another show of popularity that even she might not have envisioned for herself only a year ago.
Ella Langley’s Dandelion Returns to No. 1
Langley’s album Dandelion returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The set, her sophomore full-length, climbs from third place to the peak position on the ranking of the most-consumed albums and EPs in the U.S.
Dandelion has now spent three frames in charge of the Billboard 200. The project first conquered the tally in late April, when it debuted with 169,000 equivalent units shifted. It held in that space for a second week with another 106,000 units.
Dandelion is back on top several months later, though with a much smaller figure. During the most recent tracking period, Langley’s sophomore effort managed another 67,000 equivalent units. That’s a fairly weak total for the biggest release in the country, but it comes during a quiet frame.
Dandelion Wins During a Quiet Week
Langley beats her closest competition, Olivia Rodrigo’s former leader You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, by 3,000 units. The top debut this time around comes from rising pop singer Adela, whose first album Prima launches at No. 4 with 56,000 equivalent units shifted. That figure is split between sales and streaming activity.

“Choosin’ Texas” Ties the Billboard Hot 100 Record
Dandelion is largely kept afloat by the historically successful “Choosin’ Texas.” The song leads the Billboard Hot 100 for a milestone twenty-second week, tying one of the most impressive records in the history of the ranking.
“Choosin’ Texas” is only the second track in U.S. history to hold court for that long. With 22 frames at No. 1, Langley’s smash ties Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” as the longest-running leader ever on the Billboard Hot 100.
Ella Langley and Mariah Carey Took Very Different Routes
While “Choosin’ Texas” and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” are now matched and claim the same amount of time at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the two smashes experienced very different journeys to that historic total. Carey’s Christmas classic has accumulated its 22 weeks across multiple holiday seasons. The perennial favorite typically returns to prominence every December, sometimes adding one week at No. 1 and in other years several, as holiday consumption sends it back toward the top of the Billboard Hot 100. “Choosin’ Texas,” meanwhile, has racked up all 22 of its frames at No. 1 during 2026 alone.
