More than a decade and a half ago, Bruno Mars released his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans. By that point, he had scored a few hits on the charts, largely with other acts, and it was his initial full-length that turned him into a true hitmaker and global powerhouse.
Since then, Mars has only dropped a few additional collections, including one as one-half of the superduo Silk Sonic, as he likes to space his projects out by many years, letting each one breathe and produce multiple hit singles. This year has been all about The Romantic, Mars’s fourth solo offering and his first entirely on his own in nearly a decade. Even as the singer-songwriter promotes The Romantic via tunes like “I Just Might” and “Risk It All,” Doo-Wops & Hooligans continues to perform well all around the world. In the United Kingdom, the album reaches a milestone that none of Mars’s other full-lengths have even approached.
Bruno Mars Reaches 450 Weeks
Doo-Wops & Hooligans drops just outside the top 40 on the Official Albums chart this week. After settling at No. 39 last frame, the set slips to No. 46.
As of this period, Doo-Wops & Hooligans has now spent 450 weeks as one of the 100 most-consumed albums and EPs of any style in the U.K. The roster is built each frame using both sales and streaming activity.
Doo-Wops & Hooligans Appears on Three Charts
Doo-Wops & Hooligans appears on three U.K. rankings this week, and it falls on all of them. The studio LP lands on the Official Albums Streaming, Official Albums and Official Physical Albums charts at Nos. 39, 46 and 96, respectively.
The collection has now spent more than 400 weeks on both the main albums roster and the streaming-focused list. It has yet to crack 200 frames on the Official Physical Albums chart.
