Two Deftones albums — ‘White Pony’ and ‘The Studio Album Collection’ — return to the U.K. charts while ‘Around the Fur’ rises at the same time. Deftones returned last summer with Private Music, its first new album in half a decade. The set became an instant bestseller in a number of nations and helped the group score another big win on some of the most important charts on the planet.
Private Music did not hang around nearly as long as some past Deftones collections. The group charts three albums in the United Kingdom this frame, and its latest project is notably absent. Two of the releases from the band that do find space on any tally return after short stays away during this comeback week for the rockers.
Deftones Charts Three Albums in the U.K.
Around the Fur and White Pony appear on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart at Nos. 17 and 38, respectively, while The Studio Album Collection returns to the Official Albums Streaming ranking at No. 86. The former roster focuses specifically on rock and metal releases, while the latter measures streaming activity for albums regardless of genre.
White Pony and The Studio Album Collection both return this week. Around the Fur is the only one of the three Deftones releases that was present on the U.K. charts just days ago. That longtime favorite among fans of the band sat at No. 13 on the rock ranking.
Deftones Brings White Pony Back to the Rock Roster
White Pony first reached the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart in December 2020, when it debuted at No. 6. That remains the set’s all-time high on the genre-specific tally. The album has now spent 39 frames somewhere on the roster, making it Deftones’ second-longest-charting title behind Around the Fur, which is up to 258 weeks. White Pony was last seen on the ranking in mid-June.
The Studio Album Collection Returns as Well
The Studio Album Collection reenters the Official Albums Streaming chart at No. 86 and extends its run on the list to an even dozen weeks. It is one of only four Deftones releases to reach the streaming roster, and it has dramatically outlasted the other three. Gore, Ohms and Private Music each managed only a single frame.
The Studio Album Collection debuted on the streaming ranking last summer and eventually climbed to No. 49 this February. The package gathers a large portion of Deftones’ catalog onto one project, which helps explain why it has proved to be the group’s most durable streaming title. It only fell off the rundown two weeks ago.
