Bruno Mars is one of the top hitmakers in the global music industry, but even he doesn’t strike big every time he reaches the charts. Mars is continually promoting his latest album The Romantic, which arrived earlier this year. The project has produced multiple smashes, first with “I Just Might” and then months later with the slower “Risk It All.”
The superstar is keeping busy not only with his own music, but with collaborations that see him partner with other major figures. He recently featured on Karol G’s latest album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, and the two joined forces on the potential blockbuster “Still.” This week, the duet launches on multiple charts in the United Kingdom, but it has not turned out to be one of Mars’s most successful releases — at least not yet.
Bruno Mars Debuts “Still” on Two U.K. Charts
“Still” debuts on two purchase-focused U.K. rankings this week. The Karol collaboration opens at No. 93 on the Official Singles Downloads chart and No. 99 on the Official Singles Sales tally. The latter roster features 100 spaces, and “Still” begins its run in the second-to-last slot.
Bruno Mars Reaches 20 Sales Chart Hits
As “Still” debuts on the Official Singles Sales chart, Mars reaches a milestone 20 career appearances on the ranking. The collaboration also brings him to a new low point, as none of his previous hits have peaked beneath No. 99.
Only a handful of Mars tunes have stalled somewhere in the 90s. “After Last Night,” one of several tracks he released as one-half of Silk Sonic with Anderson .Paak, topped out at No. 90, while “Finesse” and “Chunky” peaked at Nos. 93 and 95, respectively.
Bruno Mars Scores Yet Another Download Smash
Mars is up to 36 appearances on the Official Singles Downloads chart – nearly twice as many when compared to the Official Singles Sales list – as “Still” arrives. Unlike on the broader sales tally, the duet does not establish a new career low point for the singer.
At No. 93, “Still” ties “Finesse,” which also stopped climbing in that position. “Somewhere in Brooklyn,” “Chunky,” “Nothin’ on You” and “Nothing on You” with B.o.B all peaked in lower spaces than where the Karol collaboration begins its time as a bestseller.
Bruno Mars Charts Four Songs Across the Atlantic
Mars has four songs on the U.K. charts this week, and as “Still” debuts, all three of his other hits fall from where they sat just days ago. “Die With a Smile,” his Grammy-winning collaboration with Lady Gaga, remains his biggest win on the Official Singles chart and also holds on to the Official Streaming ranking. The duet is nearing 100 weeks on the main singles roster and should reach that milestone in about a month.
“I Just Might” appears on the Official Singles, Official Streaming, Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, declining on all four simultaneously. “Apt.,” which became a global smash alongside Blackpink star Rosé, can only be found on the Official Streaming tally this frame, where it drops 10 spaces.
