The second-richest newcomer to the list this year, Yang Chang-Chih, is the founder of Gold Circuit Electronics, a maker of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for AI servers and other applications. Bouyed by the AI boom, shares of the company skyrocketed over the past year, rising nearly sixfold to land Yang at
No. 13 with a $6.8 billion fortune.
Gold Circuit was set up by Yang, a former executive at PCB maker Compeq, in 1981 and expanded into manufacturing PCBs for servers around two decades ago. Today, as Taiwan’s largest maker of PCBs by revenue, its customers reportedly include Google, Amazon and other major cloud service providers. The company’s net profit jumped 71% to NT$9.6 billion ($304 million) on revenue that rose 54% to a record NT$60 billion in 2025.
To meet growing demand, Gold Circuit said in November that it would invest NT$7.2 billion to expand a factory complex in Taoyuan, where the company is headquartered. Yang is also pumping NT$1.3 billion into its plant in Thailand, Gold Circuit’s first location outside the Greater China area, which was opened in 2025.
Yang stepped down as chairman in 2017, passing the baton to his son Chen-Tse, who took charge as CEO a year later. The patriarch retains a board seat, as does his daughter Chen-Jung.
