2026 has been a huge year for Katseye. The international girl group has spent much of the past several months getting the world ready for its latest EP, Wild. The short set dropped in mid-August, and last week became the Grammy-nominated act’s first No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
As that project begins to backtrack, one of the singles from Wild debuts on a Billboard tally, helping Katseye score a very important new win.
Katseye’s “Animal” Debuts on the Radio Songs Chart
“Animal” debuts on the Radio Songs chart this week, coming in at No. 50, in last place on the roster. The tally ranks the tunes that rack up the largest total number of audience impressions across radio formats throughout the United States. Some hits overperform in just one style, while others, such as “Animal,” can be pushed to stations that focus on different formats and genres.
Katseye Doubles Its Radio Songs Hits
“Animal” doubles Katseye’s number of career placements on the Radio Songs chart, one of the main component tallies that helps build the Billboard Hot 100. The group first appeared on the ranking a little less than a year ago with “Gabriela.” That cut opened on the roster in October 2025, but it was not until January of this year that the smash climbed to its No. 28 peak. “Gabriela” would spend 16 weeks rising and falling on Radio Songs before eventually slipping away.
Only Three Tunes Debut on the Radio Songs Chart
Only three tunes debut on the Radio Songs chart this week, and they nearly sit side-by-side-by-side. Ariana Grande lands the loftiest entry with “Petal,” the title track from her latest album and the project’s second single. Thai time around, the song opens at No. 47. Just ahead of Katseye comes Lil Baby, whose “Dead Fresh” is new at No. 49.
The tally is dominated once more by Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You,” the song she wrote for Toy Story 5. The country tune rose to No. 1 last frame and is stationary, tying “You Belong with Me” and “Wildest Dreams” as her shortest-reigning leaders.
“Animal” Reaches a New Pop Airplay Chart Peak
“Animal” appears on half a dozen Billboard charts this week, and it declines on most of them. The single falls on the Billboard Hot 100, the Streaming Songs chart and both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S., slipping to Nos. 30, 29, 19 and 27, respectively.
The track moves in the opposite direction only on the Pop Airplay chart. “Animal” steps up one space to No. 21, reaching a new peak almost a month into its run on the radio ranking.
