Noah Kahan returned with his highly anticipated fourth album The Great Divide this April. The standard edition features 17 songs – already a fairly lengthy studio LP – and the singer-songwriter later dropped a deluxe edition called The Last of the Bugs, adding four additional tunes.
One of those cuts, “Orbiter,” has become a fan favorite and is rising on various Billboard charts this week. Kahan recently unveiled The Great Divide: The Last of the Bugs, an EP featuring the four songs as a standalone project, and this frame, the set launches across a number of rankings in the United States, becoming another top 10 success for the Grammy nominee.
The Last of the Bugs Debuts on Five Billboard Charts
The Last of the Bugs debuts on five Billboard rosters this week and starts its run inside the top 10 on three of them. The EP performs best on the Vinyl Albums chart, where it launches at No. 3. The Last of the Bugs also opens at No. 6 on the Americana/Folk Albums ranking and No. 10 on the Top Album Sales tally.
Outside of the uppermost tier, the project kicks off its time at No. 22 on the Top Alternative Albums chart and No. 31 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums list.
Noah Kahan Charts New Top 10s on Multiple Rankings
Kahan increases his career count of top 10s on all three rosters where The Last of the Bugs reaches that region, and he claims a different number on each of them. He is now up to four top 10s on the Top Album Sales chart, five on the Americana/Folk Albums ranking and half a dozen on the Vinyl Albums list. On every one of those tallies, The Last of the Bugs immediately becomes Kahan’s fourth-highest-rising release.
The EP also expands his successful run on the two genre-specific rankings where it misses the top 10. On both the Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts, respectively, Kahan has now racked up half a dozen appearances throughout his career.
The Great Divide Doesn’t Suffer as a New EP Arrives
Notably, even as fans rushed to buy and consume The Last of the Bugs, its arrival does not appear to hurt The Great Divide. That full-length continues to find space on eight Billboard charts, and it ranks inside the top 10 on all but a pair of them.
The Great Divide holds at No. 1 on both the Americana/Folk Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. It also keeps in second place on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Alternative Albums rankings, missing out on the summit by only a single rung.
The collection rises one slot to No. 4 on the Top Streaming Albums tally while slipping only one space on the Billboard 200, where it dips to No. 6. At the same time, the set moves backward on two sales-focused rosters, declining slightly to No. 13 on the Vinyl Albums chart and No. 23 on the Top Album Sales list.
The Great Divide has conquered every one of those rankings in the past. Now 22 weeks into its time on the charts, the project has yet to fall off any of them.
Stick Season Remains a Top 10 Success
Kahan’s breakout full-length and the predecessor to The Great Divide, Stick Season, is also a major winner in America, even years after its release. The blockbuster holds on seven of the eight charts where his newer full-length appears, missing only the Vinyl Albums ranking.

Somehow, after years of popularity, Stick Season still manages to occupy a spot inside the top 10 on all but one of those lists. The breakout project holds at No. 10 on the Billboard 200, rises to No. 7 on the Top Streaming Albums chart and sits at Nos. 2, 3 and 4 on the Americana/Folk Albums, Top Rock Albums and both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Alternative Albums rankings, respectively.
The Top Album Sales chart is the lone exception where Stick Season misses the uppermost area. Kahan’s third LP barely hangs on as it falls to No. 48 on the 50-spot ranking.
