“Poetic Justice”: McIntyre Claims Breakthrough Evidence Ties Adrian Campbell to GIM Trading Scandal
In a dramatic twist that reads more like a financial thriller than a corporate dispute, entrepreneur and Jamie McIntyre says it is “poetic justice” that he has come into possession of evidence he claims directly links Adrian Campbell to one of Australia’s most controversial investment scandals — the collapse of GIM Trading.
The case, which saw approximately $23 million AUD vanish from investors, has long been the subject of scrutiny by regulators, including Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), as well as a high-profile investigation by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Authorities previously traced around $17 million sent offshore, raising serious concerns about the ultimate destination of investor funds.
“He Couldn’t Prove the Sale”
According to McIntyre, a central pillar of Campbell’s defence has been his claim that he had sold GIM Trading prior to its collapse. However, McIntyre alleges that when pressed by investigators, Campbell was unable to produce any sale agreements, transfer documents, or verifiable proof of such a transaction.
“His entire defence hinges on a sale that he simply cannot substantiate,” McIntyre said. “No documents, no buyer, no trail. That’s not a defence — that’s a void.”
McIntyre claims the evidence he now holds contradicts Campbell’s assertions, instead indicating that Campbell retained control of the company and its bank accounts, alongside his alleged associate and CFO, Hilton Wood.
From GIM to Marina Bay: A Pattern?
What makes the situation particularly striking, McIntyre says, is what followed.
“It’s ironic,” he noted, “that after GIM Trading, the next alleged scheme targeted my own company.”
McIntyre alleges that the same individuals and methods resurfaced in connection with the Marina Bay City Lombok project, where millions of dollars were allegedly diverted through a copycat corporate structure established by Campbell. According to these claims, funds intended for legitimate joint venture entities were instead redirected into companies under Campbell’s control.
McIntyre believes the similarities between the two cases are not coincidental, but indicative of a repeatable financial playbook.
Quiet Cooperation With Investigators
In what may prove to be a pivotal development, it is believed McIntyre travelled to Australia in February 2026, where he reportedly met with cybercrime investigators to share intelligence and supporting material.
Sources familiar with the matter suggest that Australian authorities are continuing to build their case, with McIntyre now positioned as a key cooperating witness in ongoing inquiries into both the GIM Trading collapse and subsequent alleged financial activities.
While officials have not publicly confirmed the extent of this cooperation, the convergence of new evidence and renewed investigative focus could mark a turning point.
Following the Money Trail to Lombok
Perhaps most significantly, investigators are now said to be examining whether funds linked to both GIM Trading and the Marina Bay-related allegations have been channeled into offshore assets, including a development project known as Saraya in Lombok, Indonesia.
According to McIntyre, this raises the prospect of asset recovery proceedings, where authorities could seek to reclaim funds on behalf of affected investors.
“If that money has been parked in property,” McIntyre said, “then it can potentially be unwound and returned. That’s where this gets very real.”
A Case Building Momentum
While all allegations remain subject to investigation and legal process, the emergence of new evidence — particularly claims of direct bank account control and absence of legitimate sale documentation — may significantly increase pressure on those involved.
For investors impacted by the GIM Trading collapse, and those caught in subsequent disputes, the possibility that funds could be traced, and potentially recovered, offers a rare glimmer of accountability in a saga that has spanned years and jurisdictions.
As McIntyre puts it: “Sometimes the truth takes time. But when it arrives, it has a way of bringing everything with it.”
